Needs new handle design - second carafe in 4 weeks

I dont know how to rate this product- the coffee is great but the workmanship needs to be improved. We have had 4 weeks- so far 2 pots have had the handle come apart. Leaving you to hold a metal brace- it is also made for small hands. KA I want to keep enjoying my cofee- please redesign the handle.

The brewer is made of very cheap materials. The plastic handle continues to disintegrate.

Great... until they broke.

I bought one for home and loved it so much I bought a second for my summer home. They both broke. On one, the handle just crumbled. I still use it by holding the metal piece that the handle was attached to. On the other, the handle is fine but the plastic pieces that form the seal on the upper chamber and the carafe have both split in several spots and can no longer hold the vacuum. Effectively turning the unit into a drip coffee maker that makes nasty coffee. But for the months that they lasted, it was the best coffee I’ve ever had!!

Best results of any coffee-making method I've ever used

At first I was disappointed, but then found that the coffee's bitterness was reduced and the flavor improved with each use. I feel that it is worth the premium price. Be sure that the filter is properly inserted, that the upper carafe is seated securely on the lower, and that the top is also placed securely.

Makes GREAT coffee but needs a few features

I have this coffee maker for a week now.
The pros: Relatively easy to use, makes great coffee, cool watching the brew process, it seems well-made, cool design looks nice on the counter. Did I mention it makes excellent tasting coffee?
The cons: Desperately needs a 'keep warm' function. If you don't drink coffee soon the coffee will cool quickly, I suggest buying a high-quality Thermos to pour hot coffee into after brewing, especially if you are alone.
Takes considerable more effort to clean than simply tossing a filter onto the compost heap, not a big deal, though.
We specifically bought this coffee maker hoping to avoid hot water contact to plastic and are disappointed to discover the filter handle is made of plastic. I urge KitchenAid to develop a stainless-steel filter handle and you will attract a considerable audience in an upcoming niche market of plastic-free coffee making.
With a warmer and a stainless filter handle this would be a 5-star rating, consider it a perfect coffee maker and certainly come with a very high recommendation.
Note that it makes excellent tasting coffee.

Could use a little tweeking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Siphon Coffee Brewer makes an excellent cup of coffee, it is simple to use, does not need to be carefully babysat and it works very well. It is nice the the siphon tube is stainless steel, my old one was glass and broke all the time and I ended up spending the same as what this cost to keep replacing the top carafe. BUT I do have 4 things that could be improved:
1) I have noticed that the grounds always get to the bottom carafe with or with out the extra filter.
2) I wish it had multiple brewing times or a warming only function because I like strong coffee and have to send the coffee up to be brewed again.
3) It is really hard to get the last few drops out of the bottom carafe because of the shape of the bowl vs the spout.
4) Sometimes the lid lets coffee water spit out the top because you can not close the spout part of the lid and it can make a HUGE mess.
I hope this is helpful to anyone looking at their options in buying a coffee siphon brewer. I am really happy over all with my purchase, just a few things that could be improved.

Great concept that locks in the flavor

The coffee maker was given to me for Father's Day 2018. The coffee maker locks in the flavor, the machine is easy to clean. Issue is that the plastic rim warped and the machine no longer works properly. The pot also doesn't keep the coffee hot.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
