Looks great POOR performance

I bought this coffee pot as a finishing touch to my brand new kitchen (I had waited for 5 years). It had the old fashioned methodology with a new, modern look... just like my kitchen. I've really tried to love this coffee pot, really, but I can't. First, there is no coffee aroma that as a coffee lover, I so look forward to in the morning!!! The coffee filter cloth that comes with it doesn't work, nor do the other variations I've purchased. Each and every cup is loaded with black soot/grains at the bottom. I've adjusted amount of coffee and ground textures for the last 6 months! Clean up is a mess, but I'd easily go through the trouble if the coffee was worth it. The look on the counter after I've brewed a cup is also messy, coffee grains remain within the globe... and when I'm so excited to taste that first sip of hot coffee, the last thing I want is to clean the globe! The lack of buzzer (since aroma is absent) leaves me to find a cold brew... unless of course, I stand there and wait for it... not functional.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a wonderful coffee maker. It's super easy to use and really easy to clean. It heats the water very quickly (less than 60 seconds) the whole brewing process I would say is as long as a standard drip coffee maker. It makes REALLY good coffee; very good flavor and Extremely smooth. It's really fun to watch as well, very cool process.

At first we were skeptic about this contraption, but it really does brew a great cup of coffee. Ideal if you have two coffee drinkers in the house. My husband brews the coffee every day before I head out the door for work. I take one large mug with me on my daily commute. He drinks the rest. What I like is that the unit is taken entirely apart and can be hand washed. It doesn't build up any foul aftersmells or the build up of coffee residue like other traditional brewers. It is easy to clean and assemble. You need to purchase a strong roast to fully benefit from the inversion effect.

I have had this machine for almost a year and thoroughly enjoy it. It brews coffee quickly and always taste good. My previous machine never tasted this good. I tried the filters about a month ago and found no difference so they are not really needed.
