I received the Phillips Shaver to review.
I was impressed with the build quality of the unit, as well as the technology which seemed to be integrated into the base station. The razor heads moved gently over my face and I enjoyed being able to use it in the shower. When using the trimmer head, the shaver works wonderfully. Its really effective at making clean trim lines around sideburns and the neckline.
Unfortunately, I was unable to get a clean or even shave at all. I used the shaver on wet skin, dry skin, and with shaving cream. It took nearly twice as long to shave as it does with my previous shaver. For the value of this product, it should work perfectly every time. My previous shaver was worth 1/10th this one and worked flawlessly.
Pros: great appearance, waterproof
Cons: not effective
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works great....for a few months only.

I have always bought Philips shavers and have never been disappointed, until now. This shaver worked great for the first few months and then really got dull, taking forever to shave. In addition the head started squealing very loudly after about 12 months of use. I clean it regularly as per the directions, etc. The only solution offered was to replace the head, which costs $80 in Canada. Not willing to pay this much annually to keep this "high end" razor working.
Pros: worked well for a few months, easy to clean
Cons: blades dull too quickli, head squeals loudly after one year, expensive replacement parts
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I received this Phillips shaver to review, it has a nice stand to do cleaning. It can be used dry or wet. The trimmer does not have a holder and is tricky to replace on the head of the shaver.
Pros: convenient stand, wet/dry
Cons: trimmer is separate
I would recommend this to a friend!

Philips gave me the opportunity to try the Philips Series 9000 Wet & Dry shaver and I have used it for the past week. I find it easy to use and a good shaver. I personally have been only using electric shavers as I have a tendency to cut myself with other types of razors. I mainly used series 9000 for the dry shaving aspects as I am lazy and was not home for a few days. I charged it the first night I received it and have not charged it since, so I can say the charge does last for at least a week. When shaving, I followed the instructions of going in a circular motion on my face. It cut pretty quickly in the first two pass and it did not irritate my skin. The shaving head followed my face’s contour and glided on smoothly. I shaved in the morning and it lasted me the whole day. I also trimmed my side burns with the trimming attachment. It trimmed my hair pretty easily and I did not feel it “pulling” my hair like other trimming attachments have. I find my neck to be the most sensitive, and when dry shaving; I did feel a little scratchy by the front of my neck. That issue was not there when I wet shaved. Be sure when wet shaving to have the tap running to clean off the head once in a while so that it does get mess and to dry it thoroughly as per the instructions. Last night, I also tried out the cleaning unit that came with the Series 9000. It was pretty easy to use and the nice part was that I can leave it there to charge. Only issues is that you will need counter space for the cleaning unit and make sure it does not tip over as the cleaning solution can spill. According to the instruction manual, the cleaning solution should last up to 3 months if cleaned once a week. I think the Series 9000 is a very good shaver and a good choice for anyone who wants a clean shave and the convenience of an electric razor.

Great design, good performance

I received the Philips Shaver to review and I loved it. The Philips Series 9000 is quiet, light and effortless, while also achieving a very close smooth finish. First of all the design is amazing, and handling the shaver is super easy and comfortable while shaving, so the design of the shaver is really a big advantage. The three circular blades looks more advanced than the older models, and they do a great job shaving to a smooth finish, but I found that it can’t shave all the hair in one shot, you need to go back and forth couple times to get a smooth finish. Also, the flexible head while shaving did a great job shaving all the areas of the face as it can go along all the face contour. The most thing I loved about this shaver is that it has many operating levels, low, medium and high, according to your needs. Cleaning the shaver is easy especially when using the solution that comes with it, I recommend to clean it right after you finish shaving because it would be much easier. Also being able to shave while you’re showering is a big advantage as it could save you time and effort, but of course shaving on a dry skin results in a smoother finish. One thing made this philips shaver more advanced than the others is its noise, it’s not noisy at all, very quiet and doesn’t have that bzzz sound. All in all I loved this shaver, the design is great, the performance is good but it could be better and charging the shaver is super easy and convenient. I gave it 4 stars not 5 just because it doesn’t give you a smooth finish from one shave.
Pros: quiet, easy to use, lightweight
Cons: need couple shots to shave smoothly

Quiet, Close Shave and Long Battery Life

I received the Philips Shaver to review and I'm really happy that I did. I've been using this shaver for a couple of weeks and the most impressive features in my mind are the long battery life and how quietly it operates relative to my old shaver.
The paperwork that came in the box references 50 minutes of cordless shaving, but my experience has indicated that this shaver will likely last well beyond that. After more than a week of 5 minute plus shaves, it had gone from 5 bars to 4, and held steady.
I used the shaver wet and dry, and found that it delivered a close shave in both cases. With less than 4 days of facial hair growth it worked very well. Over 4 days of growth and it struggles with longer hair. I was able to use the included trimmer followed by the shaver and found that worked quite well. I trust that with more practice it will be even better.
The shaver runs in 3 different modes, all of which worked well. As a user, you may not notice much of a difference apart from a bit more noise as you select the higher modes.
Once I was finished shaving, the on screen reminder to rinse was a nice feature, and I found the razor head cleans very well if you follow the directions in the manual. After a week or so the oil from my face began to build up a little bit, and although the rinse worked well, a few hairs would remain in some of the harder to clean areas. After running the shaver through the self clean function, all of the hairs were gone, and the oily appearance disappeared which allowed me to go back to rinsing only with great results.
Pros: quiet, close shave, long battery life

Razor worked ok for a couple of weeks. Now it does not cut close at all Thing rings holding the cutters in place constantly fall out
Glad I kept my old cheap Phillips Norelco
Pros: sleek and feels good
Cons: won’t cut remotely close, price was way to high for junk
