Poor Head Cutting Performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used Norelco shavers since I was 15 years old. I recently fired up my old Norelco 5865 XL model that barely spun because the battery is shot however as an experiment it gave me a much closer clean shave than these new wet/dry heads that simply chew on my hair pass after pass. I also have my newer 8892 XL that is a better razor than the heads on this 9000 series. Disappointed in the product.
Pros: battery, handle grip, speed adjustment?
Cons: poor cutting head design, trimmer not integrated in razor, wash bucket and fluid a waste of money, charge cord not coiled
I would have given this product a five star rating had it not been for the fact that the directions do not make it crystal clear how to separate the shaving heads from the hair chamber for cleaning. The two parts do not just "pop off" and separate easily, especially when the product is new. Philips should have included a magnified rendering of where one puts one's fingernail in order to detach the shaving heads from the hair chamber or additionally, put tiny tabs on three sides of the shaving heads for easy separation of the two units.
Pros: shaver renders a nice close shave
Cons: only the issue stated above
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worth the price? Maybe, but still excellent.

As affordable shavers turn into disposable pieces of...plastic..maybe someone wanting a good product has to spend this sort of money for something that works and presumably will be durable. That being said, the 9700 is excellent. The grip especially is the most ergonomic I have used in 40 years of Norelco use. The digital display showing remaining battery is especially useful and the cleaning system is reassuring. The shave is no better, no worse than I have obtained with new cutters and combs on previous models. We'll see if it lasts.
The product is ok. But I have been a Phillips customer for over 30 years. You have made a product that is more complicated to use. You need to concentrate in making it easier to carry to charge and most of all to shave. The cleaning, to cut the sideburns you need to install the cutter removing the shaver. Difficult to carry plus the charger. In other words more complicated
very well made and designed. the cleaning feature is better than other shavers.easy on the face. I use a pre-electric shave lotion and that helps to get a smooth shave. I find that using the highest speed and at the same time just slowly moving the razor over my face works best. but as with any electric razor first wash and dry your face.
