Nice design, fits in hand nicely. But it takes me just as long (4-5 minutes) to shave as my Arctec shaver. I would have thought after so many newer generations of shavers, Norelco would have improved the shaving time.

I have found the razor to perform very well, but I have had trouble with the orange cutter head retaining rings. On two occasions during the first six months of ownership, two of the rings (at different times) have broken and fallen out of the shaving head with the cutters when I empty the whiskers. I prefer to open the head and brush out the whiskers rather than rinse the head with water. I am very careful and do not touch the rings or cutters; just clean out the whiskers below the cutters. Norelco has sent me a package of three retaining rings and I have used two of them to replace the broken rings as of this date. Also, the razor cleaning device was defective and was replaced by Norelco. Both problems were resolved by Norelco quickly and I still prefer this razor to the previous design.

The NEW norelco series 9000 is harder to and more time consuming to keep clean. It does not contour to the face or cut as close as the1280x models. Only recommend because of rotary blade design.
Pros: rotary design
Cons: very hard to clean, no stand to store razor

Best shaver to date!

I've been a loyal customer to Norelco shavers for 30+ years. I have been upgrading them every 2 to 3 years, when the battery finally dies on me. This S9000 is a little over 2 years, with the same blades, and it shaves just as good as it did day 1. Battery life is still over 2 weeks of usage and still gives me that smooth shave. The best part is the cleaning/charging unit. I think this is why my shaver has lasted like it has. I wish/hope all Norelco shavers comes with the self cleaning unit. It makes a world of difference from older shavers that I have used. Just set the shaver in the unit, hit the power button, and let it do its thing. Very easy and simple. A lot better than taking the shaving heads apart and cleaning them yourself. I love this S9000 and will definitely buy it again, or an upgrade as long as it comes with the cleaning unit. I HIGHLY recommend this shaver! You just can't go wrong with it.
Pros: long battery life, self cleaning charging unit, excellent shaving blades

I have had previous Norelco razors, top of the line ones. this one beats them all. I can get the closest shave, and it I guess depending on your beard, it could last a day or two or more. the cleaning system is very quite, hardly know its on.
Cons: seperate trimmer not very convenient, sometime difficult to change heads
