This shaver has given me the smoothest shave ever!

I've been shaving for a long time and this is the best one yet. I usually get razor burn on my neck and almost a smooth shave. No burn and the smoothest shave ever.
I got rid of my Norelco 7300 due to poor shaves and difficulty with orange retaining rings. Came loose many times while shaving. I was very disappointed that the 9850 still has rings to fully clean. All previous shavers had metal twist. This is last time I buy a Norelco
Everything I read about this 9850 razor is a bunch of horse pucky! I will keep my OLD Philips Norelco 9190XL which is 10 times better.
Pros: there are no pros
Cons: doesn't cut like advertised, reviews true/should not have bought
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, thanks for sharing your review with us. What a pity to hear that your Norelco shaver didn't live up to your expectations. If you have additional questions, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook (https://philips.to/fb247) and Twitter (https://philips.to/tw247). I have been using Norelco shavers from tthe 5thseries; this one certainly is a step up. The shaving system is almost noiseless; I like the opportunity to see at a glance the battery level and to step up or down the shaving intensity. The attachable groomer is awesome with its different height settings. I would only like to see the shaver heads holder flip on a hinge for washing the heads department, instead of physically pulling it up and separating it from the head assembly. Great shaver for a pretty close shave.
Pros: great design; low noise; great grooming attachment
Cons: lack of a hinged cover of the shaving compartment
What a great shaver. I apply face moisturizer on my morning beard and begin shaving. I can't say enough how comfortably smooth and close the shave is. Very glad I bought the 9850.
Closer shave and the heads can be replaced easily. Do not have to charge the shaver through a cleaning unit. A definite plus.

Unbelievable Shaver

This is such a positive review that readers might think it's fake, but I guarantee you it is for real. a I am 80-years-old and have used Norelco shavers my entire adult life. Every 2 or 3 years I buy a new model to see how far the technology has advanced. So, I bought a new SW 9700 to replace my older 9300. OMG; what a razor! I cannot believe how great the shave is...a huge advance over every other Norelco shaver I have ever had. This shaver is quiet, fast, floats over the face like it isn't even shaving, yet gives me the smoothest, friction-free shave I have ever had! I shave in half the time of my older razors, with MUCH better results. It has been three weeks since my 9700 arrived, and instead of shaving being a drag (so to speak), it is a joy. I still cannot believe how great this razor is. But I have to ding the company (not the razor). Those of you who have been with Norelco a long time know that every shaver used to come with a plastic cover for the shaver's head to protect it, and a small brush to help with the cleaning chore, like to get out long hairs trapped in the heads. Well, Phillips Norelco has stopped providing these important accessories. With the prices of Norelcos climbing, how cheap can Norelco be to not include these accessories? Pretty darn cheap! I urge Norelco to do an about-face, and start providing the plastic protective guard for the shaver head and the brush to help in cleaning. These accessories cost next to nothing to produce in bulk, and Norelco is showing itself to be not very consumer-friendly by omitting them.
Pros: fast smooth and irritation free, best razor ever!, love it!
Cons: no protective plastic guard to protect the head, no small brush to aid in cleaning
I would recommend this to a friend!

Philips gave me this product to review and overall I am satisfied with it. Its sleek and modern design is an improvement to the previous Philips shaver I had. It has multi speeds for shaving and a pretty good battery time. What's different from my previous Philips shaver is that the head is detachable and the trimmer is now an attachment. Previously the trimmer was attached to the back of the razor, while this made it more clunky it meant you were less likely to lose it. The head of the shaver, while stylish, detaches too easily and could be secured better. Charger/cleaner is easy to use. Hopefully I will get several years of good use out of this razor.
Pros: sleek and stylish, fast charging
Cons: attachments may get lost, head comes off too easily
