Not everything is perfect for everyone, so this one is perfect for someone like me who needs close shave with light touch (Senso Touch) and ease of use.

Not up to standards

I have had the 9850 for 60 days. Previous razor was also a Norelco. Purchased due to reported quality of shave and battery level indicator. I have found the shave is unsatisfactory. It would take me 3 days to grow a five o"clock shadow, yet this razor requires to long for shaving daily. I find the use of the detachable trimmer to be cumbersome and time consuming. For travel it is also an additional item to store since the "case" is only for the razor and not the charger or attachment which seems true of all brands. The battery level, a desired feature, to me is the one saving grace. I had already given my prior Norelco to charity so There is no going back to that and will be giving the "new" Norelco 9850 to charity also. It appears that my opinion of the product is in the minority which is okay. I am retired on a limited income so to me this choice was a good learning experience. Overall I am very unhappy with my purchase of the Norelco 9850.
Pros: battery level

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best shaver I have ever owned. The instructions that came with the shaver suggested giving it 3 weeks to realize how good it can shave and I noticed immediately what a nice shave it gave and how comfortable it was. This is definitely a good purchase.

I did not realize when I bought this that the shaver does not have a trimmer. I would not have bought it had I known.
The shaver is supposed to be the best at under the chin and the neck. It is not. It takes longer to get the same shave as it did with a much older shaver.
Cons: no trimmer, poor cutting
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

About 4 years ago I bought your BEST and most expensive shaver just like the purchase of this current 9000 series I bought weeks ago. This one now shaves like the one back when and is great...THAT IS ..until you changed the shaving heads of my old shaver and SENT PRICES FOR REPLACENT BLADES ALMOST HIGH AS THE RAZOR. If that wasn't bad enough you made the RQ12+ which was a TERRIBLE replacenet.
BOTTOM LINE DON'T SCREW US LOYAL SHAVERS AGAIN !!

Does not shave very well under chin, easy to clean under faucet
Pros: good beard trimmer

The plastic clip for the trimmer is poorly designed. I had the same thing before and it fell apart in less than a year even though I was very careful with it. It probably costs about 10 cents to make, but without it you cannot use the trimmer. I am very disappointed with Norelco. If you aren't going to redesign it, why don't you include 3 or 4 of them with the trimmer?
