Not Worth the Money
on March 16, 2016

The cleaning system turns on when the razors not in it, and the shaving head broke with in 3 months all it does is wobble then a red exclamation point comes on. Sometimes the cleaning station will just keep cycling the water over and over, I let it go for over an hour before unplugging it. This razor is worth about 100 bucks at best, the price point is ridiculous.
Pros: the base unit still works i guess that's a pro
Cons: everything else is broken

Cons: unit will not clean or provide a close shave

Close shave so far but design problems - IMO

I am an architect, so design is my scene, and I have used Norelco Philips shavers since I started shaving in 1976. I don't have a heavy growth so they usually work fine for me. I replaced an older 4000 style unit with this 9300 &, so far, I am very unimpressed after one week of use. The shave is fine but that's about where it stops. The "Smart Cleaning" system which came with it is a joke and takes hours to complete its cycle. Worst of all however is the design of the body of the unit itself. It looks nice but it is not ergonomic when it comes to holding it with a hand. My 4000 series is shaped to fit a hand naturally and works with ease when shaving. The 9300 is angular and does not fit my hand well at all. While I am shaving my thumb ends up resting on the on/off button & often, I switch the shaver off by accident while I am using it. I wonder how they came up with such a poor design for the grip. For me, it does not feel comfortable or natural at all to hold and I am not happy with this expensive unit. It is also much more bulky than my former unit with a bigger hard case which is a problem for me too as I travel a lot. There were no open samples in the store for me to see when I bought it and I am probably going to return it as I think it is certainly not worth what I paid. Close shave so far but, I think, a poorly conceived and flawed design.
Pros: close shave, good brand
Cons: bulky design, uncomfortable grip, unnatural to hold, can switch off by accident when shaving, bulky and slow cleaning system, expensive

Not happy with this product!

Do not like that you have to take off the entire head of the razor to clean it, rather than just lifting the heads up like on my previous razor from you. Also, the fact that you don't have a trim feature on the razor without changing heads is not a good time saving feature. The razor does a good job of saving, just do not like the above mentioned items.

Design faults
on March 1, 2016

When working right gives a good shave but the retainer rings are forever coming loose. That`s why I said design fault. No where did I find info that new retainers come with a new set of blades until I called customer service.
I have used Norelco shavers for years and am surprised about the design of the retainer rings

Blade cutting
on February 2, 2015

The blades sound like they are grinding against the blade cage and sound like they will wear down the blade cage. I am concerned about this.
Cons: blade issue mentioned above.

power cord insert into smart clean
on January 7, 2018

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the razor... Just need better instructions on how to insert the power cord into the smart cleaner. IT MUST GO IN ON AN ANGLE. Hold the smart clean on an angle and "push the power cord UPWARD" into the smart clean device. Once you try, it will make sense. Hope this helps someone!!
