Blades need replaced often

I am very disappointed with my series 9000 razor. The blades in his razor stay sharp for only 2 to 3 months. For the money I paid, I would expect much better especially for someone like myself who has a fairly light beard. I refuse to pay the high replacement cost for blades every 2 to 3 months.
Cons: blades wear out quickly. replacements are costly
I've had many electric shavers and these blades the best I've every had.

I have used the Norelco Aquatec for many years. One day I realized I needed a new saving unit (interestingly the series 9000 now will remind me its time to do so). At the store I saw the 9000 being shown and I lifted it up to look it over. When I saw that the 9000 shaving unit could move not only up and down but in all directions, I decided to not just get a new shaver for my Aquatic but to get the new 9000. The first time I used it I enjoyed the method of shaving but, more so, I found out that the shaving blades where significantly better than the ones I've had in all shavers in the years before. I don't possibly know how a shaving unit could be better.
Pros: the sharpness of the blades, the flexibility of the shaving unit
I am 73 yrs old and have been using Philips product since I was 18 yrs old, I have no problem with the shaver and I am happy with the shaver however the cleaning device is a joke they have send me replacement under warranty after 2 months of use after 8 months the cleaning device is not functioning properly. I stop using it and I JUST CLEAN WITH HOT WATER.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dull blades

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shaver worked well for about 4 months, however the blades got dull in a short time frame. I paid a lot for this shaver and know it seems ever 4 months I have to spend a crazy price for new blades.
I had been using a Philips XL model for the past fifteen years. I have been using the 9500 for the past two months. The difference is like night and day. The razor is easy to handle and very easy to clean. The shave is much closer than the XL and takes half the time for a good close shave. I have not used the cleaner pod yet because all I do is pop off the head and rinse it and the head base under hot water. A quick dry with a hair dryer and it is ready for the next time.
This Norelco is so much better than my previous Norelco shavers. I have been using Norelco shavers forever, and this one is closer, easier, and much more comfortable than the previous shavers. Didn't think I would like the cleaner/stand, wrong again. A great way to clean, charge, and lubricate your shaver. Would recommend, would buy again.
I have always only used Norelco electric razors since I started shaving 53 years ago. This latest version is by far the best that I have ever used, it not only lets me shave my face in the shortest time it also shaves my face the smoothest and cleaning is a breeze. JOB WELL DONE PHILLIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: short time it takes to get a close shave, easy cleaning
I really like this shaver and had one of an old model. But, it is unclear how to disassemble the head for thorough cleaning and thereafter my shaver head busses and seems to sputters and work inefficiently. Further, when using the cleaning cycle of the system with the solution in the chamber it seems unclear whether or not to hit the start button for recharging and then at some point hit it again to start the cleaning cycle. The original head design was more robust and made by machining. The currently design seems like it is a cost reduction project where the part is assembled or cast and likely comes from a host of vendors; it seemingly was not well tested nor documented.
Pros: ease of use, basic design has many advantages
Cons: the head seeming was redesigned for cost reduction, the head seems to malfuction and busses during use, the cleaning cycle is not well documented, the reliability and assurance are not robust
