No nonsense install and use

I needed a way to allow remote entry for several users of a music rehearsal space. I had gone for another, well-known, brand starting with a 'K', with smartphone application and keypad entry and it was a technical nightmare. This product has been an ideal replacement. Reliable, easy to install, easy to set up codes. Easy to set preferences. I haven't used the Alexa feature of the included smart module, but I'm reasonably sure it'd do what it says it'd do... If you need/want to program individual codes for multiple users, this isn't the flashiest product on the market, but it's going to get the job done without a hitch.

Will not work with myQ or chamberlain products

This is not an issue with the yale lock which looks good and functions well without network connection. Wife likes it. Lock install was simple. My issue is that it will not work with myQ dispite Chamberlain selling the same lock. Further, Chamberlain myQ will not say what home network they use or what protocols they support. But it must not be z-wave because this board is not compatible and Chamberlain will only directly sell the same full lock to work with their system. They will not sell just the Yale plugable network board (that is a replaceable item in this lock) for myQ.

You need to buy a hub to use it with Alexa

The wireless module that comes with the lock doesn’t even work with the Yale Secure mobile app, you need to buy a hub if you want to use the lock with Alexa or Ring or Apple Home or whatever smart home system. The product description should’ve said it more clearly, instead of just saying “it works with Alexa!” I’m very disappointed and now I need to buy a hub for no other reason - all my other smart home devices work with Alexa without needing a hub

Install was easy. Initial setup was also easy although my master code was not programmed the way I set it. Ring integration on the other hand was not easy. It took 50 minutes on the support line to get it setup. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for all the extra time it took to setup. Something that should have taken 5 minutes took 50. Now that it is all set up, I love it.

Extra hardware needed for Alexa integration!!!

This lock is beautiful, we got the black matte. It's slim and the finish is wonderful. After installation, I was excited to get started with the app and Alexa integration as the video touted... one HUGE problem. You need a SmartThings or Z-Wave hub to connect with Alexa. The description makes it seem like it's plug and play when it's not.

Love the lock but do your homework!

The Assure line is pretty confusing. With this Zwave version, you won't get code free access with electronic keys. It is remote controllable via hub/zwave app, but I haven't been able to use Yale Apps. To do so would require a module switch - convert to Bluetooth. Fortunately this is easy and Yale has options for everyone in their line. Anyhow, if you want Zwave, it works well within the limitations mentioned. You don't have to have an extra hub like other versions, but you do have central control.

too long to deliver

The product it self works great but the delivery time it took was extended by more than 3 days. I wish the instructions were a bit simpler, way too long for such an easy process. So far is working great wit zwave integration.

Worth every penny!

I bought this smart lock with z-wave as an addition to my Viving security system and I love how these two work together. Now instead of unlocking my door and going straight to the panel, the smart lock communicates with the panel and deactivates the alarm for me. I can also tell my google nest mini to lock my front door and It does it for me. The installation process was not bad, I watched a few videos on how to install it prior to starting. The tricky part was linking the lock with my Vivint panel. But after messing the with locks settings for a while, I was able to figure it out!
