It's great...using with Ring Security

I purchased this lock specifically to use it with our new ring security system. It works great and is fully integrated with the ring security system. The users and their codes also work on the lock so you don't have to manage two separate sets of codes and users. Install was fairly straightforward and there was a good video online showing how to install it properly. I'd like the fact that it notifies me in the ring app even when the lock is operated manually. So there is always a record when the lock is locked or unlocked that shows up in the ring app. If you're using ring security I highly recommend this lock.

Overall very happy with this lock

This lock has worked very well for me with no problems. I wanted one without a key. The display numbers are bright and the voice guidance helpful. I really like the timeout feature that will automatically lock it after a configurable amount of time. I have it set to the max of 3 min. I would like to have a longer time. Since I am using the Z-wave module with a Smartthings hub I am unable to configure it from the app. Sometimes it would be nice to easily turn off the automatic locking feature if I am coming in and out a lot or there are workers coming in and out. I think some of the other modules do allow configuration from an app.

Good smart home features, weak mechanics

I bought this product to better integrate with my ring system and for that I couldn’t be more thrilled. Codes can be managed from within the ring app which works well. Lock and unlock can also be done via Alexa or the ring app. Unlocking it also disables my home alarm. Install was just as simple as any other smart lock. Changing batteries is simpler than the kevo smart lock I had before. However, this lock mechanism is not very robust. Compared to the kevo it feels a bit weak and lends itself to reporting a jam when locking far more often if I’m not pulling the door shut which makes it less reliable for providing Tempora codes to say a cleaning lady. Overall a decent lock though and nice smart home addition.

Excellent Keypad - Works with Z-Wave effortlessly

I found this Yale touchscreen keypad to be clear, bright and responsive. Set up was easy as the unit talks to you to guide you through the menu system. Installation was fairly easy, however it comes with ZERO instructions in the box other than to tell you to go download an app and watch the online tutorial, which was very good, on how to install and initially program. The online instructions from the app however, do not provide extensive instruction that allows you to use all of the useful features of the lock. For that you have to go find on your own the users manual if you want to figure out how to adjust volume or disable the privacy feature etc. Overall the lock is great but I remove a star for not including a users manual.

After months of debating and researching many brands/models I feel like I made the perfect choice. This lock was easy to install and very easy to use. I love the fact that it works with my ring alarm system and my Amazon Alexa devices.

No more lost keys

I have a keyless lock on my front door, and loved it so much I picked this one up for the basement. When I take the dogs walking, or go out for a bike ride, I don't like to hassle with keys, so it's nice to be able to get into the house without them. Also, my adult kids stop in from time to time, and its nice to be able to let them in without being home. I had a housecleaner that took my housekeep and never returned it. Keyless entry saves you the cost of a locksmith if anybody does that to you.Now that I have convinced you that you need a keyless lock, why this particular lock? It has a lot of great features. It is compatible with a lot of smart systems, including the popular Ring doorbell, and with Amazon Alexa. There are options for use, depending on personal preference. Some people like to be able to walk up to the door and have it open, some people like a PIN code for everyone. Depending on personal preference and your own preferred level of security, you can pretty much do what you want.I had help installing it, mostly due to some drilling that needed to be done. If you're fairly handy, this is doable with just a screwdriver.The ability to let people in and out of my house (dog walker, housecleaner, contractor) occasionally makes these locks very useful. My son uses them in his AirBnB. Change the code and people are again locked out.I love the peace of mind knowing there are no copies of my housekeys out there, along with the ease of use. Highly recommended.

I really researched this before picking this lock

I have a lot of devices on my Vera Zwave network. I wanted an easy to use and install lock. Most importantly, I did not want a key. If you do not have a Medco lock cylinder, it can be bumped. So not having a key in this Yale lock was perfect for us. It took me and my wife about 10 minutes to install. This is only because the hole in our jam was a little short for the deadbolt arm of the Yale device. Once we drilled it out a little, all is good. This is working perfectly and I am very happy with my purchase. I looked at all the companies and decided the Yale was the best one to go with.
