An excellent value for a mid-range phone. Also the size is just right. I keep it in my pocket and did not want a giant phone. It is close to stock Android, with just a few More additions like the double twist to launch the camera.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Brilliant Device

I bought this device about a year ago. I thought it would be a slow phone, and I would need to get a new one soon. But the Motorola G5 Plus has proved me wrong. It is very fast and is up to date. The only reason I would give this a 4 star is because the camera is very poor. Also the battery is outstanding, way better than Apple. Otherwise it is a great device. I would definitely recommend this device, it is very reliable.

Volume not good

Had Moto G3 and had charging issues. So on last month, Dec 2018, I bought the Moto G5 Plus because it was about the same size as my Moto G3. First thing I notice is the volume of the phone calls. It is difficult to hear the person you are speaking with. The volume is up all the way and on speaker and still doesn't sound loud enough. Today I checked in a Moto Forum and seems like this is a common problem. I checked the "hearing impaired" box and hope it helps the volume to be louder when talking with someone. Other than that, I like the phone. Just bummed about the volume issue.

Died with Oreo Update

I loved this phone at first. Beautiful 5.5 inch display. Fast processor and nice camera made the phone a great balance cost/performance ratio. I use an unlocked Moto G5S Plus on Verizon network. Everything worked great except phone quality at first and Motorola fixed with updates. Then came Oreo. Motorola should have never updated this phone to Oreo. I don't know if it is inherent issues with Oreo and GPS, or the 32 bit operating system of the G5S Plus. After I updated my phone to Oreo 8.1 everything died on GPS. The signal is extremely weak with GPS. It constantly drops GPS. I now absolutely hate this phone. I wish there would be a class action lawsuit against Motorola. They have bricked this phone now for me as I need GPS for my daily use. I have been forced to now buy a new phone. I have done all the troubleshooting. Factory reset, install with no apps, etc... I'm sure Motorola/Lenovo will eventually release a update to fix this, but with their track record for updates and fixes... I would have a better chance of winning the lottery.

Not great. to many ads. To much junk shows up on screen. Things that were simple on my old phone take more steps to get to work. Does a few things better but about ready to toss in trash and go back to old phone.

Good phone - fast processor

main problem - can't remove camera widget from lockscreen - camera came on inadvertantly while in pocket which casused the battery to get hot - could be a fire hazzard.
