Had a Note 5, but this is better

Solid phone overall. I like the single press to unlock the best. Battery lasts a long time also, longer than the Note. Also, the phone is very clean app-wise. Samsung and carrier branded phones have a large pile of apps that clutter the phone. None of those here! On boot, it is using ~500MB less ram compared to the Note. It is worth noting that the camera is not quite as good as a flagship like a Note, but the Note costs 3 times as much, so for my usage, the moto wins every time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Power Button Broke after 12 Months, Phone Brick

Was happy at first. Had some initial issues with some apps not running so was forced to do a factory reinstall. This happened again after 8 months. Power button broke after first year but could still use phone. After last Moto update phone the froze during the install. Without working power button I cannot do a factory reset (would have been my 3rd in 14 months). Now its a brick.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A really good phone

At 1/4 the price of a Galaxy s9, my Motorola G5 does what I need.
+ Nice battery life - In my usage patterns, my Galaxy's battery ran down in about 5 hours, so I had to constantly recharge, carry auxiliary batteries. The G5 easily lasts a full day, unless I stream a couple of flicks.
- Hasn't yet bitten me, but I expect that battery replacement, when it becomes necessary, will be very difficult if not impossible. The Galaxy's case opened easily, and the battery was a simple drop in. The G5 seems to have not been designed for battery replacement.
+ The camera produces very nice photos
All - in all, at $215 from Costco, this is a fine, economical camera

Great Phone, especially for the great price

I bought this phone to replace my Motorola G3. The 64GB G5 Plus is a wonderful replacement for my older phone. The ONLY thing I wish was kept on was the older Photo Gallery App which gave me more control over how I set up and organized my photos, but I guess this is an Android thing that work with the Google Photos cloud storage? I found a free App that I downloaded from Google Play that gives me more of the ease, look and feel of Gallery for my photos.

I've had this phone for about almost a year now and it has worked fantastically. I love the fast processing and fingerprint sensor, so much security! I do not regret buying it ever. It is unlocked, so I can switch carriers whenever I want.

Best bang for your buck

I've had this phone for a year now and it has never let me down. I'm a mechanic and I'm pretty hard on phones. I chose Moto because of past success with Motorola's durability and resistance to screen breaking. I'm thinking about upgrading now and I'll probably give this phone to my son. The features are easy to use and it does everything I want it to and then some. Battery life could be a little better but overall, I'm very satisfied.
I would recommend this to a friend!
