Why did I ever pay more for a phone?

The longer I have this phone, the more I wonder why I paid 3X its price for previous phones. The screen is huge, beautiful, responsive. The gesture system is intuitive and an effortless way to navigate and access phone features. Battery life is easily 2 days. Camera speed and image fidelity are wonderful. My work involves taking LOTS of photos of old geologic records (yesterday I shot 776 photos) and the lighting is usually bad. This phone consistently delivers low-light images with enough resolution that I can zoom in to see the fibers in the paper! The cellular reception is better than my old phone; I get an extra bar of signal strength now. I ordered the phone directly from Motorola and had it a week later. This phone has replaced half a dozen devices in my travel bag, including my beloved graphing calculator.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased this phone about a month ago upgrading from a lower model Motorola phone. So far everything has been great. The transfer was easy, the phone works good - no problems. This was an unlocked phone so I had to get a Sim card from my carrier and other than a call to update my data their were no issues. Love the phone.

I bought one about 2 mounts ago and love all the features. It's fast! Perfect size, love the fingerprint scanner, and you can't beat the price for what you get. With that said I'm buying another one for my wife today!!

Amazing smart phone

i bought my moto g5s plus a few months back and it is still holding up. It is a fairly snappy smartphone and holds up pretty well with any games and apps that i throw at it. the fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate. once oreo is on this phone it will be a lot better. The best thing about android on a motorola device is that there isn't any bad bloatware but pure android with added features, i couldnt cope with out the chop feature for camera. I recommend this phone to anyone who needs a new phone but is looking for a budget phone

Very strong initial impression, look and feel, and useful proprietary Moto actions.
It has restarted once on its own, and apparently this is an issue with this model, potentialy related to SIM card seating. If that is true, then a critical component has been poorly designed. If it was a fluke, then it deserves a strongly positive review. For now, 3 stars.
