Good for everyday use

I bought this phone around two months ago, I'm pretty satisfied with it. But it's reception for the LTE internet is not good. It keeps disconnecting which can be very annoying especially when I'm listening to music online. Also, I have noticed that it is not well compatible with Facebook app, as the app suddenly closes while I'm reading an article and I have to open it again and find the article.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Removing the cache will delete unnecessary data from your device which might be causing the inconvenience.

It seems there is an issue with the software and that is why the phone is not working properly. Please, make sure to back up your data before doing the factory data reset, you can move your information to a computer, to a cloud service such as Google Drive or Google Photos, or you can move it to an SD card if it is possible. Also, make sure you remember your Gmail account and its password since it will be requested later on after the reset has been performed.

Getting Used to New Device

Quite a diff from my 1st Gen Moto X. Love the 5.2in screen. Still getting used to the reversal position of the on/off&vol pads. Good sharp screen images. The camera seems more than adequate though I have yet to use specialized features. I have small hands yet device easy to handle. Has Google voice commands vs the old Motorola software and seems to work nicely and the battery lasts a very long time compared to the old unit I had. I say that this phone represents great value for the $.

Everything is great!

Phone is good looking. Looks and feels very well made. It is fast. Screen looks great. I ordered 2 of these and I m really happy about the purchase. Both cameras are good. The front/selfie camera has improved a lot, especially for low light selfies. This is my 2nd Motorola smart phone. I took away one star because just yesterday while I was chatting with friends thru 2 apps back and forth, the phone got really hot and then it started to freeze. I had to restart it. This is the first time I experienced the hiccup with this phone, since I purchased it 3 weeks ago. The battery is awesome. I can use 2 days without a charge! Keep up the good work, Moto! Mid-range market needs you!

Lenovo = no upgrades

I bought this phone about a year ago. At the time, Motorola (Lenovo now) was promising an upgrade to Oreo would be "Coming Soon". Oreo is still not available, and the website for upgrades has NO INFO FOR THEIR OWN UNLOCKED PHONE! It's not even an option in the menus - if I'd bought it from someone else, it would be there, but their own sales is not an option in the support menus (go try it).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

+Very pleased with this pnone

I replaced my 3 year old moto X 2gen with this pnone only because it's battery was failing, and I find it perfectly acceptable. It always works just like it should and the battery life is much much better. Easily runs 2 days without recharge and it charges very fast. I love the one button control with swipe actions and the screen is just as bright and colors as vivid as the Amoled screen on my moto X. All features are similar or better. The only thing I miss is waving my hand over the screen to see the time and notifications. For the price this is a great phone, I'd buy it again.

Everything was great till the phone locked me out. I write codes and passwords down, so I know it was correct..
told that I would have to bring it to original settings. . not happy about that.

VOLTE not working, Poor camera

Every time with phone system updates, there are some problem you have to face. I am using VOLTE service carrier. In phone specification, it says this phone supports VOLTE, but there is no options to enable it. It is not working in my case. I even tried through phone information and VOLTE is enables there but still it is not working. I cannot make calls as my service provider uses only VOLTE. I also tried all tricks available on the web to make it working. Factory reset, network reset, *#*#4636#*#*, change of sim card slot. nothing is working. I would not recommend to buy any Moto product if you are using VOLTE.

Great value

This is a good phone and I recommend it and the Moto family as a result of my purchase.
When you google "budget phone" and the range is $400-600, it's more significant that this is available for under $300, it performs as well as phones costing twice as much that I've tried. I was coming off a Sonim military phone so my demands and expectations were high. The screen is bright, the processer fast, and specific "Moto hand gestures" are a boon which I use all the time. Battery life is good. The contacts app and especially the calendar app are better than any others I've seen: the calendar app splits the process into pieces (name of event, day, time, etc.) which much, much easier; choosing the time brings up a large analog clock face (you touch "3" and "25" for 3:25 pm, etc.), which is fast and foolproof. In comparison, my friends Samsung phones are much more difficult in this regard.
The only "out of the box" negative is that the camera is inexcusably slow, but there is a software fix for that that you will get as part of the ordinary updates. So once you do that, this phone has simply nothing at all to be disappointed with. I'm certain through this purchase that I will be Moto-loyal going forward.
