Think Again

I bought the 5g in April 2018 and I was extremely happy. It had all the features of my Samsung 4 at better performance but a much lower cost. However, the love affair is waning. First a minor drop of about 18 inches chipped the glass. I should have had a screen protector but my Samsung had done fine without on for years. Then the fingerprint reader just stopped working -- maybe right after August update. No worries I just changed to a different security method. Now the battery can only last 6 hours on standby and none of the recommended fixes seem to work. At this rate the phone is the most expensive one I have ever own with a life of 6 months.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Phone with a few issues

I have had this phone for a couple days it's a decent phone but the shutter speed is slow . It will mess up the photo at tmes but it takes excellent photos most of the time. The sensor is very sensitive at times sometimes moving the camera just a bit can be the difference between a good photo and a bad photo.
The phone is snappy and handles games well speakers are good. The battery drained easily at first but after some updates and turning on battery optimization. I can get 7 hours of screen on time with heavy use.
Everything about this phone is perfect except for the camera. It takes bad low light photos has trouble focusing at times shutter speed is slow sometimes and the sensor is quite sensitive.
I do recommend this phone but I have ordered the Moto g5 plus to try out and see which one is better for my usage.
I admit this phone seemed too big at first but after using it I got used to the size especially after putting a case on it I love it. That being said if the normal g5 plus doesn't have these issues I might switch to that despite having a smaller screen.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This phone is just ok

I bought this and I have to say I'm disappointed. It could've benefited from more memory. As far as the 32gs of space that's on me. Just a few days after I bought this I saw the G5s 64gz and 4 gz of memory instead of 3 I should've waited. Sometimes it shudders when scrolling though we'd pages. Then I can't run addblock plus, probably because of some contract between Moto and google. The only way to run it is to download addblock browser, which is actually firefox with addblock. A great idea except Moto or google won't let it run fast as they interfere with it so it can take too long to load. Don't get me wrong I prefer firefox over chrome cause you have more controll. That's why I bought an unlocked phone or so l thought. So I'm stuck using chrome and have to put up with intrusive ads and popups along with congratulations you've won an iPhone that is tricky an notoriously difficult to get rid of and if you do it involves deleting your history and cookies. What a joke on me, Thanks Google and Moto.

Froze constantly

Constantly shutting down, and now it is completely

I got this piece of junk three months ago, and it has been full of bugs all along, a lot of apps did not work very well, and lately it was just freezing, until today, not it is completely dead, and I cannot even force start it.

Good features, less than stellar battery

I bought this about 6 weeks ago. There was no SIM card and it wouldn't accept my old one. Lost information after having to install a new SIM card. The battery life is not good. Always have to charge a couple of times a day. I didn't have that problem with my Moto X. Thinking about sending this back. It will lock up for no reason.

I would feel the same way if I'm in your situation. Our unlocked phones really don't come with any SIM card as the device is unlocked which can be used with different carriers in the US. SIM cards can be purchased from your preferred carrier. Regarding the battery, how is the battery life not good? Drops calls a few times a day :(

I have always liked Motorola's phones. But this model Moto g3plus freezes often as well as cuts off calls regularly. Not happy with this at all.

I know how hard it is to have a phone which freezes and cuts off calls every time. Let me further assist you. How often does the phone freezes? Have you checked if you have running apps in the background? Regarding calls, does this happen to all locations? There are instances that call drops if it happens that you are in a low signal area. Try rebooting your phone and see if that would help. You can also try to remove running apps in the background to save RAM and prevents the phone to lag or freeze. Screen Broken

The Gorilla glass doesnt really work. My screen broke off in like 2 days without any heavy impact. Other features work well but the display Gorilla glass is disappointing. I expected more out of this. I am a regular Moto user and have used Moto G4 which was a great one but this is really disappointing.
