Long battery life
on February 7, 2018

I'm not a power user. I don't do gaming or streaming, but I do like the long battery life. With my old phone, I felt like a slave to the phone, because I had to charge it so often. Now it's much better.

Worst phone I have ever owned
on May 27, 2018

I have had software issues since day one. Multiple attempts with tech support leaves me with temporary workarounds but no solution. My direct dial contact selections lose names and only show as "Contact" after any received app update is applied. Wi-fi connections drop without obvious reasons. Bluetooth earpiece must be re-paired prior to every use. Many phone settings are being reset to previous values for no obvious reasons. I place or receive calls frequently where the party on the other end cannot hear me. I hear them just fine. One of us must drop and re-dial. This occurs with or without the Bluetooth earpiece. The induction charge attachment that I purchased does not seem to charge. It only prevents the battery from dropping from the current level. I will be re-thinking my loyalty to Motorola and consider an Apple when I am eligible for another purchase.

Don't buy this junk!
on August 3, 2018

I've had this lemon for 2 months now and I'm just going to throw it in the trash. It's impossible to just make a call with all the useless menus that keep popping. there's no Back button -- no easy way to get to the desktop or to Settings. also impossible to block calls and go to Messages. It's junk-- want an upgrade to this? Buy a flip phone!

Hi,

I understand what you feel regarding your concern. We saw your response and we would like to help. May I know how there's no Back button on the phone? The phone has Recent, Home and Back Button on the screen and the device has One Button Nav which allows you to navigate the phone using the fingerprint sensor instead of pressing these buttons on the screen. How aren't you able to make a call? The device has a Call block feature. Feel free to reply back for us to further assist you. We'll surely help.

Regards,
Jess

Speaker Volume is horrible!
on March 5, 2019

I bought this phone just over a year ago and although its a great phone, the speaker volume is horrible and updates have not provided a fix. Unless motorola has subsequently fixed this issue, I don't recommend purchasing the phone.

Finger print some times stuck, slow

I came from Galaxy S7 , have been using for a week, moto g5s plus is good at first. Simple phone. Thought it's android one version but not. Battery is very good.
But finger print sensor sometimes doesn't work. Explicitly u click on lock button then use finger print.
Some times phone rings but I don't see any call notification. After sometimes I see missed call.
Look and feel very nice.
Came with lot of expectations. Didn't meet.

Has problems
on November 4, 2018

Has problems that the company is aware of with no fix in sight. Motorola replaced phone under warranty, the replacement has the same problem. Level 3 support is able to duplicate the problem but says currently there is no fix. No notifications for more than three months now, plus the expense to have the warranty phone shipped priority. I have owned the moto G 2,3,4, and now 5. This will be my last.

Great phone
on February 15, 2018

I wanted to leave iPhone due to their Intel chipset problem and battery scandal. I chose this phone based on the specifications and I am really happy with my choice. The phone is really fast and I am enjoying the phone so far.I love the color and it looks very nice. There are two problems with the phone that I am pretty sure that they are software problems and need to refollowed up by the manufacturer. First, when I sync it to my car, the recent calls don't show up. I have to reach my phone and call from my car instead of using the controls on my steering wheel. Second, despite 13 megapixel cameras, I don't get to capture clear pictures indoors.

I appreciate you are enjoying this phone. We would like to help. Regarding your concern about syncing your recent calls to your car, have you tried to tap the gear icon right next to the Bluetooth name of your car that is showing on your phone? There are two options which has a check box: 1. Internet Access 2. Contact sharing. Have you tried to check the checkbox of Contact sharing if that would help? With the camera, how doesn't it capture clear pictures? We would like to hear more from you so we would what we can do to help. Send us an email to supportforums@motorola.com
