Needs Reset at least twice a day

I have bought phones at less than half it's price and never had the problems like this junk phone. Worst is when you get a phone call and screen goes dark. You are forced to drop that call because phone needs reset, meaning switch off switch on. When I bought it I was promised Andriod 8 within the 1 year warranty period. Never happened. Take a photo and it goes to Google cloud whether you want so or not. Motorola name is being dragged through mud. So sad.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Incredible battery life!!!

This phone is an incredible value for the money. It performs well for pretty much everything I do, and far better than my previous phone, the Galaxy S5.
Something that definitely stood out about this phone was the battery. It is advertised as an all day battery, but I can usually get 2 full days on all but the most demanding days.
The camera isn't great, however. It is dual, but I would have preferred a decent single lens as opposed to two mediocre ones.
Overall, this phone has an incredible value. For not a whole lot of money, yuo can get something that does everything you need it to do, and does it for over a day.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Already having issues

Bought the phone 5 months ago and it was a solid phone out of the gate, quite nice. Recently, a few issues have started to crop up. Seemingly everyday, the phone will at some point refuse to unlock all the way. It will just take me to the lock screen. This forces me to have to restart the phone. It will even just lock itself while I am USING the phone and proceed to become unlockable. I have never seen something this ridiculous, especially for a phone that is this new. My previous Samsung phone lasted years before dying on me. I don't see myself purchasing another phone from this manufacturer again.

Great phone for a great price.

I looked up tons of reviews for this particular model of Moto phones before I bought it and I was not disappointed. The G5S Plus is a great all-around phone. The fingerprint scanner is top-notch, one of the fastest I have used. Believe it or not, the front-facing camera is almost better than the rear one!!! It has a flash LED as well. The reason I bought this phone was due to the balance of features and price. The processing is fast, the apps are smooth, and the speaker is loud. Can set the brightness level down to less than 50% and still see everything well. By far one of the best phones I have ever had.

A Must Have

The battery life is amazing! (I get about 36hrs of use if needed) and It charges back up so fast! About 2hrs from 3% left. Twist camera activation is far more useful than anticipated. However, the shake to activate flash light is my favorite. I only wish I had more Mods to report on for review. The Mods are worth looking at twice. If you hear my meaning!

1)The speaker volume is too low during phone calls. Otherwise it is loud.
2) For Moto One touch nav, please please allow users to silence the vibrate on touching the fingerprint sensor. It will make the experience much more classy and save on battery too!
Please please release patches/fixes for the above issues, I won't be recommending motoG5S plus to anyone till then.

I understand how important these features to your phone. Let us further assist you. How low does the speaker volume during calls? Have you tried to raise up the volume during calls? Regarding the One Button Nav, vibration or the haptic feedback works as designed. You may turn on Battery Saver to get rid of the vibration on One-Button Nav.

Was great before Oreo, now GPS failure

I loved this phone at first. Beautiful 5.5 inch display. Fast processor and nice camera made the phone a great balance cost/performance ratio. I use an unlocked Moto G5S Plus on Verizon network. Everything worked great except phone quality at first and Motorola fixed with updates. Then came Oreo. Motorola should have never updated this phone to Oreo. I don't know if it is inherent issues with Oreo and GPS, or the 32 bit operating system of the G5S Plus. After I updated my phone to Oreo 8.1 everything died on GPS. The signal is extremely weak with GPS. It constantly drops GPS. I now absolutely hate this phone. They have bricked this phone now for me as I need GPS for my daily use. I have been forced to now buy a new phone. I have done all the troubleshooting. Factory reset, install with no apps, etc... I'm sure Motorola/Lenovo will eventually release a update to fix this, but with their track record for updates and fixes... I would have a better chance of winning the lottery.

Not unlocked as promised.

I made sure to ask if this was unlocked and was told yes. Just tried to use it in South Africa and they said it is locked. They said it is probably unlocked for US carriers but not another country. Very disappointed with that. Otherwise it's fine.

We suggest contacting your preferred carrier and see if this phone will work with their service. We do not recommend users buying a phone from a different country as the warranty of the phone is only limited to where it was purchased.
