There is a systemic electrical problem with this model. Mine has died twice in less than three years. Looking for a new one and I won't buy Frigidaire again.

Tripping the Breaker, not the Breaker's fault
on April 12, 2022
Posted by: Sandy Blonde
This worked fine for a while until it didn't. It trips the breaker even though the electrical is fine. Read the other reviews on here and all over the internet (youtube, reddit, etc) and you'll find that it's very common problem with this model. Sad that I'm out all this money for a new one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Microwave blows the line fuse or trips the circuit breaker constantly. From the reviews there seems to be an electric design error on the unit. Do not buy

Broken handle common problem
on July 5, 2022
Posted by: Ladyslipperlady
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] DR Horton installed 2 of these microwaves in our
home which has a separate kitchen for me in a suite. Just as others are reporting, the handle broke off and the replacement handles are outrageously priced. The tiny cheap plastic nut breaks easily. I would never buy another one. It’s not an inexpensive microwave.

Stop working
on August 22, 2022

The same thing happened to me with this microwave The microwave started tripping the circuit breaker prior to completely failing. The appliance was installed l 4 years ago, in a brand new home.
Response from frigidaire.comBy ChristyOnline Outreach SpecialistAugust 23, 2022
Thanks for your candid feedback. We feel terrible to learn your microwave hasn’t performed as expected. We can understand your disappointment and would like the opportunity to help. The circuit is rated to handle a certain amount of amps (unit of electrical current), and it sounds like the microwave is exceeding that amount, causing the breaker to trip.

There are two possible causes:

• The microwave is malfunctioning and pulling too much electrical current
•You have too many electrical appliances, including the microwave, plugged into the same circuit.

Make sure the microwave has a dedicated circuit. Microwaves pull about 12 amps and need their own dedicated 20-amp circuit. That means they shouldn’t be sharing the circuit with any other appliances. If the microwave currently shares a circuit with other appliances and runs at the same time as those appliances, they’ll quickly overload the circuit and trip the breaker.

If needed, please connect with us via live chat Monday-Friday 8:30 am- 8 pm EST or by phone at 1-800-374-4432, and we’ll be happy to help. ~ Christy

Frigidaire FFMV1645TS
on September 16, 2022

Clearly the life of Frigidaire microwaves are only a few years. Ours tripped breakers, to include the range, last week so we thought it was electrical. Two technicians came out and determined it was actually the microwave. No stove, no microwave. Needless to say, our crock has gotten plenty of
use!

Microwave trips my breaker
on October 5, 2022
Posted by: jasonbell1973
The microwave is on its own dedicated 20 amp breaker. It was working fine till about a month ago. Now every time we try to reheat something it trips the breaker. It was installed in a new home in September of 2018. After reading all the reviews it sounds like a common thing.
