Stopped working in under 4 years
on August 14, 2022
Posted by: Poor Production
Like many other reviews I have read. The microwave started tripping the circuit breaker prior to completely failing. The appliance was installed less than 4 years ago, in a brand new home.
Response from frigidaire.comBy CiaraOnline Outreach Specialist August 15, 2022
We apologize for any matters you have experienced with your microwave and thank you for bringing it to our attention.

One of the most common reasons for a breaker to trip is an overloaded circuit, which means that a greater electricity demand is being placed on the circuit than it can deliver.

Also, your breaker can trip if your microwave is not on a dedicated circuit and plugged into a GFI outlet, which can cause a 'nuisance trip'. So that this doesn’t happen, your microwave must be connected to a dedicated supply circuit with the proper voltage and frequency.

In the event the information provided doesn’t resolve your concerns, please connect with us via Live Chat, and our experts will be happy to assist.

Best Regards,
Ciara

We're part of the Trippy Micro #MeToo Movement

Installed Feb 2019 - New Construction with full Frigidaire Kitchen appliances. Dedicated CB (so don't even try it support center). Started tripping the DEDICATED circuit about a month ago. Now, cook times are all over the place. Various issues with the rest of the set as well. So we're currently shopping for anything BUT FrigiDARE - dare you to be worth the money!

Don’t buy or if builder installed this unit tell them to replace
on October 20, 2022

This unit is a horrible. Blows its circuit and trips breaker. Had unit plug, board, and new wall outlet replaced and unit blew again.
Response from frigidaire.comBy ChristyOnline Outreach SpecialistOctober 25, 2022
The microwave is overloading the electrical circuit. In other words, the circuit is rated to handle a certain amount of amps (unit of electrical current), and the microwave is exceeding that amount, causing the breaker to trip.
There are two possible causes:
• The microwave is malfunctioning and pulling too much electrical current
• You have too many electrical appliances, including the microwave, plugged into the same circuit.
Please check the following:
• Make sure the microwave has a dedicated circuit
• Microwaves pull about 12 amps and need their own dedicated 20-amp circuit. That means they shouldn’t be sharing the circuit with any other appliances.
• If the microwave currently shares a circuit with other appliances and runs at the same time as those appliances, they’ll quickly overload the circuit and trip the breaker.
• Check the tripped breaker’s label. Does it say “microwave”? If not, then that most likely means your microwave does not have a dedicated circuit.
• Whether or not the microwave has a dedicated circuit, the microwave may be tripping the breaker because there’s something wrong the microwave itself that’s causing it to pull too much electrical juice.
• Test to see if the microwave is malfunctioning
• Plug the microwave in an area where the breaker is usually set for a higher amp/current rating, like your garage. Turn the microwave on and see what happens.

Highly Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 19 months new mircowave Frigidaire (2018
(2018 June) Manufacturing Date i moved in ,In Nov 2018 less than 2 years(Disappointing) trips the circuit breaker consistently. Currently using my old General Electric Mircowave as a back up its running fine and it was manufactured 2012 had several owners from my apartment days they updated us to Samsung and let us keep the old ones. I also put a load on that outlet to exceed 50% (2600W) more energy than the Frigidaire (1550)would with no issue. Longevity is important with products regardless of warranty. Honda is a good example, tons of Honda's from the 90s that were taken care of properly are still out lasting 201-'s vehicle

This microwave came with our new home and we loved it. Then shortly after the first year it began tripping the breaker, and now we are only able to use the fan and light since it will not cook anymore. Such a bummer!

Trips breaker
on January 11, 2021

Microwave part of new home build in spring 2018. Fast forward to January 2021 and the microwave trips the circuit breaker. Tried on multiple, working circuits and the microwave tripped them all. Clock, light, and fan work, but trying to cook trips the circuit.
