I detest this mircrowave

I learned a big lesson about buying a microwave - never buy one until you see it and can examine it in person. This microwave looks nice but has two huge flaws: 1) when you close the door it sounds like the door of a 1958 Chevy closing - it is a LOUD SLAM and it gets REALLY annoying 2) when your food is done, this thing REALLY wants to make sure you know it. It beeps - then a while later it beeps again and it beeps and it beeps and it beeps until you want to SCREAM so you have to go get your food. The third thing I hate about it (but I can't blame Frigidaire because I should have read the description of what I was buying) is the LED light that shines down on my cook top - it is not a nice warm glow like my last microwave - it is a COLD BLUE light that just bums me out. I can't really afford to, because it cost quite a bit to install, but I really want to have it removed and get a new one. I hate it.

The constant, loud 3 long beeps every 20 seconds are EXTREMELY annoying and should be a total deal breaker if you are considering this microwave. There is no way to turn this off. There is a YouTube video that explains how to take the microwave apart, remove the control panel and break off the little bleeping beeping speaker, but I am reluctant to try this given the expense and amount of work it took to install this beeping piece of junk.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This purchase replaced a 25 year old one that was literally falling apart. (control panel fell off - hanging by wires) We had to have one that fit in the same space and this one filled the bill. It's nice to have the updated features like reheat,etc.) I've seen a lot of reviews where people bash the unit for it's "3 loud beeps" when it shuts off. Maybe my hearing isn't that sensitive, but it doesn't bother me at all. The beeps stop if you open the door too.
The only thing I can pick on is that the door squeaks when opening or closing. A bit of lube will probably cure it straight away.

Alarm sound is REALLY annoying!

We've been using this unit for three days. It works well and looks nice. But after only three days we want to throw it through the window! The alarm beeps are WAY too long and they repeat WAY WAY too often! If I'm doing dishes or something where I can't run right over when it beeps, it's just so insistent that I drives me up a wall! For that reason alone I want to replace it already after only three days. You have been warned!

Love how fast this thing cooks with enough power to handle large plates of food. My only complaint is once your food I done cooking if you don't take the food out the beeping is annoying and too frequent. But all around a good unit that does a good job.
