[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I went looking for a new range, Frigidaire was not even on my list of manufacturers to look at. Fortunately, the appliance store I use had one on display. First impression was the cooktop grate was very well laid out. I love to cook and liked the idea of the fifth burner also. Upon using it, I am even more impressed! I had what I thought was a "state of the art" cooktop 5 years ago. This cooktop far surpasses that one. The burners are so well designed, more like those of a chef or commercial unit. The flame shape curves up toward the pot so less heat is wasted. The enameled base serves as a reflector so the amount of energy needed to cook is even less. Even the smallest cooking burner is more efficient and better designed than the best burner on my previous cooktop. I like to cook with stainless steel and cast iron and this cooktop is absolutely wonderful! I've already had 4 pots and a frying pan running simultaneously and it is an absolute joy. The burners are so easy to adjust "on the fly" that it is easy to run multiple burners with no stress at all. Now, the oven. I opted for the standard oven with self-cleaning capability. The instructions tell me to run my old recipes 25 degrees cooler than the recipe calls for. This I think is because the Frigidaire unit does NOT lose temperature (sag) as previous ovens. The first thing I tried was two apple pies. Perfect! Normally the recipe calls for 375 and I ran it at 350 (the oven also went from dead cold to temp in about 5 minutes...this is outstanding...). The pies came out exactly as they should. No hot spots at all. Next, I ran a casserole and cast iron pan bread at the same time, two different levels (as the instructions indicate). The pan bread would normally have run at 400 so...yes...375. Again, the oven reached full temp in about 5 minutes! Again, perfect! The bread came out exactly right and the casserole was also correctly finished. My wife is getting tired of me singing the praises of this thing. I've been running this range now for about three days and each day is such a pleasure I wish I'd bought this machine years ago! Who knew? Frigidaire ranges are such a well kept secret. I am definitely a convert. Love it.

Problems already!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 2 months ago because my earlier range could not be fixed after 24 years of service. When they installed it they put the oven on-but forgot to remove some interior piece of cardboard. Luckily I opened the door and saw it before anything happened. The black gloss always looks dirty, no mater how often I clean it. When they removed the blue tape from the stainless steel it left marks that won't go away. After just a few months the finish is wearing off the black grates. I have also found tiny metal flakes on the bottom of the oven. Not sure what they are??The oven seems to take longer to cook. It could be that the preheat light says temperature is reached before it actually is that temperature.

Frustration

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Oven does not heat unless you first place it in Broil setting for 10 minutes before switching over to Bake setting. The burners also do not consistently light. Have had repairman out twice already in first 3 months of ownership, still not working correctly.
