Support Mac!

I have been using this software for years, and I have to find someone's PC to borrow, because Mac's are not supported. Frustrating.
What's great about it: comprehensive

Good tool - first time user

Great tool for new LLC member. Easy to use and made K-1 forms easy to fill out. Generates nice letter to each LLC member as well. Thought that the 1st state return would be free, like the Home and Business version.
What's great about it: excellent guided tour through all forms
What's not so great: unsure about inventory & supplies?
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy and no brainer

It will be helpful if there is a little zoom out or a summary of pages of questions somewhere on the screen, so that we can go straight to the one that we need to change, instead of having to go through each question over again.
What's great about it: Making sure all essentials are in balance
What's not so great: You have to go through each question again if you return to the same section

No Live Support

No live support. Turbo tax used to have a number you could call with questions that was included when you purchased the program. You are not left along to search similar questions that can sometimes be helpful but if you have an our of the ordinary questions it is hard or impossible to get an answer.
What's great about it: Easy to use,
What's not so great: hard to find answers when you have a questions.

Simplifies the tax return

The Asset/depreciation records should retain State depreciation on assets so that the changes/adjustments on the MD 500DM are more easily identifiable.
What's great about it: Liked that K-1's are produced automatically
What's not so great: MD State Decoupling for Depreciation

Not Helpful Enough For The Layperson

The TurboTax products for personal taxes are pretty good, so we decided to use their business product when my partners and I started our side business.
Unfortunately, the business product does not do nearly as good a job at guiding the user through the various areas and issues specific to businesses. I was stumped a number of times by interview questions which did not provide sufficient context or explanation, and the program was quick to dump me out of the interview and into the forms to resolve numerous "errors" for which I had no clue. If TurboTax can't figure it out, that spells trouble.
I ended up spending a great deal of time researching business tax law and still had concerns regarding the correctness of our business taxes at the end of the process, such that we ended up going to a tax professional anyway at our additional expense.
This product might be good for a tax professional or a simple sole-proprietorship, but I can not recommend for an average person with little tax experience and a complicated business, due to the level of knowledge this product assumes you have with regards to business taxes.
What's great about it: Entering most information is quick and easy. E-filing is painless.
What's not so great: Assumes a base level of business tax law knowlege which the average person does not possess.
