only as good as your info

If you don't know you are giving the correct answers go to a tax professional. The software tried to tell me I was getting an $8,000 refund and I knew that was not correct. One question I thought I was answering correctly was the source. I had to google what exactly was meant. When I changed that answer my refund went to 0 as I knew it should be. Look a gift horse in the mouth or pay dearly for it later.
What's great about it: it allowed me to efile
What's not so great: not easy to get questions answered

Turbo Tax Business for Mac

I have been using Turbo Tax for years and it seems to always improve. My one and only complaint is that Turbo Tax Business is not available for Mac computers. Come on - get with it!
What's great about it: Turbo tax makes filing super easy.
What's not so great: Turbo tax REALLY needs to come out with the program for a MAC computer.

Great to get into the details but its not unambiguous enough to enter the right amounts and to figure out which deductions or expenses go in which field.
After using this, I was now confident I needed a CPA :)

LLC Tax Return Preparation Software

Saved me a lot of time trying to figure out complicated tax forms.
What's great about it: Easy to use the software! Used a lot of the information from the previous year filing.
What's not so great: Expensive software but I would have had to pay a tax preparation service a lot more money to do the same thing.

1120s Schedule M-2

It was far too difficult to get to schedule M-2 and shouldn't have defaulted to "don't compute schedule M-2". At the least, I should've been asked to complete this as part of the 'step by step' process.
What's great about it: Auto populated correctly
What's not so great: The step-by-step process is too vague. Had to convert to form function to add all info needed.

What's not so great: NYC S Corp Taxes can't be e-filed and lots of general information from the federal from has issues transfering to state

Good software

This was easy to plug our information in, but there was a minor bug of jumping to a 1099 screen after each question being asked.
What's great about it: Generally complete
What's not so great: Minor bug
Pros: I bought or sold investments, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
