Good but Flawed

The worst part of TT is downloading it. I can't just go to my downloads and get updated versions each year. Instead, the site is designed to force customers to use online versions. I spend at least an hour each year trying to get to the right place. Infuriating. There are several recurrent mistakes with the business TT. One is that the software does not allow the distribution of capital gains from a Trust. Another is its difficulty with a trust located in one state and the fiduciary lives in another.
What's great about it: Mostly accurate, quick, easily to try variations
What's not so great: Mistakes, Horrible Website

Every year filing gets easier. Either TurboTax keeps getting better or I'm getting smarter. I'm sure TT's getting better. I hope I'm getting smarter.

Turbotax Business 2017 import from QB error
on March 5, 2018

My business has one employee which is myself (owner). I used TurboTax business 2017 and imported my QB data. However, after importing, it has a warning that there is no officer compensation and offers you to enter data. The wages I had in QB was imported as "other employee" compensation and no officer compensation was there. Although TurboTax asks to enter Officer compensation, I entered Officer compensation but I cannot reduce "other employee" compensation. Even though I wiped out other employee compensation, TurboTax would not save the change and hence doubled my income. The whole return cannot be corrected and pass the error check. There are a number of other imported numbers you cannot change. I have to redo the whole return again.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: If account coded wrong, you cannot change the data in Turbotax

Where's the Data

Great programs, We use both the Business and Home & Business programs because we are running two LLCs and also have a little self employed act to factor into the personal 1040. We have always been delighted.
Several years ago, we tried two other programs and there simply is no comparison. TurboTax is head & shoulders above the Competition in ease of use, however; for the last two rounds of tax preparation, much of prior year's information {which in the past had always been brought forward} was not there for us.
Comparatively very difficult to go back to manual entry of so much data. We spoke to someone on the phone last year - no improvement. Could be my fault - - BUT it worked well for me for almost 20 years.
What's great about it: Everything is easy to find, the program is easy to work with and it is spot on correct, leads well and is easy to follow
What's not so great: For the second year now, your program has not saved and carried forward all the necessary info for easy, correct filing.

Could use some improvements

I used TurboTax Business for the first time this year after starting an LLC in 2017. I have used TurboTax for many years. I found the Business version not as easy to use, and many times had to go back and redo inputs after moving through the questions. Once I produced a K-1 form, I do not understand why the deluxe version of TurboTax could not import all that info from the business version like it does for investment income. Also--why doesn't it do WV state taxes?
What's great about it: Helped me do LLC taxes for the first time
What's not so great: Don't understand why the Business version of Turbotax doesn't "talk" to the personal versions of TurboTax

My partnership is an investment company. The personal Turbotax easily walks you thru or downloads brokerage company forms. I don't understand why the same software processes aren't in TurboTax Business. This would improve this product significantly.
What's great about it: Step by step walkthru
What's not so great: It is difficult to enter 1099-b, 1099-DIV data

Love TurboTax, been using it for a while for both my personal and business taxes. But as a Apple user, I would REALLY LOVE a Mac version of TurboTax Business. I really hate working on a PC. :)
What's great about it: Love the ease of use.
What's not so great: REALLY wish there was a Mac version.
