Great, easily completed

I have used Turbotax for years, 15 plus, and love how easily I can complete the returns. I had an installment sale in 2006 and have been receiving payment for 12 years. TurboTax has keep track. Only takes 30 minutes to complete the LLC return.
What's great about it: handles installment sale, no sweat
What's not so great: where are filing instructions?????

Small Business Taxes Made Easy

I had used the Tax Preparers to file my taxes for a Small Business which is an S-Corp. I had paid anywhere from $800 to $1600. While I understand and appreciate the hard work a few of the professionals really take you for a ride and charge hefty sums. This year, I decided to take a risk and do it myself using TurboTax which I had been familiar using for personal taxes for over 15 years now. Wow, it was a breeze. You need some basic understanding of accounting when it comes to balance sheet and profit-loss statement for small business taxes but TurboTax has really made it extremely simple and easy to use.
What's great about it: Easy to use, simple explanation of tax terms, ability to go back-and-forth to get it right
What's not so great: Tax rules change, only some line items for 2016 are different for 2017 - no big deal but some explanation would help

I had to call to complete my taxes because the program was insisting that I needed a form the IRS had not yet released. I did not need the form and I was told how to delete the form. It all went well from that point.
What's great about it: Done
What's not so great: Had to call about unnecessary form

Been using this product for a number of years and really like it. The downloaded version makes me comfortable because I keep all of our information on our computer and back up hard drives, not out on a cloud service.
My only complaint this year is that the information page with mailing address was not available with the print out so I had to go to the IRS website to look up the mailing address.
What's great about it: Easy to use and file
What's not so great: No info sheet print out

There is no cover page on the printed version of the tax return and when I choose to preview it, the program closes. If I go to "Forms", choose Filing instructions, the page is there, but it gives an error message that no file has been created and still will not print.
What's great about it: Offers Option
What's not so great: Turbo Tax Closes when I choose to print

Good experience - couldn't find live help

Overall I recommend using this product. Easy to use, guides you the entire way. Quick search to jump to sections or look something up.
In the product description it did say I would have access to a live CPA to ask questions or at least do a final review. I could not find this feature anywhere in the application or on the website. This was very disappointing since I assumed it was part of what I paid for. Nevertheless I made it through the return successfully. The live help would have just made me more confident and gotten any pending questions I had answered with confidence.

Is this 2018?

Why are we forced to purchase and download a program to file taxes in 2018? Sadly, you only find out that QuickBooks Online (which we all use for its mobile functionality) is NOT compatible with this program after you purchase it. Pretty disappointing overall for the price point. Not even compatible with Macintosh computers! I would have not made the effort to use this program if I hadn't been tricked into thinking it could import my quickbooks data.
What's great about it: Most of the features worked
What's not so great: Not compatible with quickbooks online
