Don't make mistakes

It told me I needed to submit paperwork with my e-file but when I tried to print it, it failed. It never allowed me to go and print those forms and it never told me what those forms are.
Also, I made a few errors the first time through. When I wanted to change them via the step by step process, you could not do it. I ended up going into the forms to correct the errors.

What's great about it: takes you through a process
What's not so great: if you make a mistake it may not allow you to readily fix it

Usually I have no problems but I was very disappointed this year. 1. I have duplications on my Other Current Liabilities in the Schedule L of the 1120S form. The wizard didn't indicated it but the print out did.
2. I had to key my balance sheet manually into the NC state forms. I should have saved that $50 and filled them out manually.
What's great about it: Easy to follow guidelines and had good information
What's not so great: Errors found in the tax forms

I felt that turbo tax did everything that needed to be done. I just wish I felt I understood taxes better after paying hundreds of dollars for this software to walk me through it all. For example I still don't know how to properly pay employer quarterly estimated taxes. There isn't much guidance on what to do outside of tax season.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions. Felt that everything was handled
What's not so great: Not enough guidance on how to pass profits to myself. I don't fully understand how a pass through entity works.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy first-timer

My design business uses only Mac. The fact that this program was only available on windows/PC was a huge inconvenience. Luckily I was able to borrow a friends PC. Process was easy and I'm pretty sure I'm no longer afraid of doing taxes. Really wish this was available Mac.
What's great about it: Uhhh this was darn easy
What's not so great: Finding someone who had a windows computer to borrow.

Easy to use

Have used Turbo Tax for quite a few years and will continue to use in the future. You do not have to be a tax expert or even a CPA to complete your taxes with Turbo Tax.
