K-1 Process

The process for getting cohesive K-1s is a bit cumbersome in that the input info is not self-contained to one screen/form and you have to hunt for the entry points.

Simple but on-line support lacks

Very easy to input data, but going from the data input format to actually looking at the returns to understand what the program did is not that simple and the On-line support is not very user friendly if you are in the middle of a return (wait time 40 minutes to get an answer.
What's great about it: Easy to Use

too many bugs

each year I find more bugs in Turbotax that require that I use override to make manual changes to the returns. this year there were more than ever. isn't the idea of using Turbotax to avoid having to make manual entries? not sure I will use Turbotax again.

Bad, but necessary

If you're an Einstein or have CPA help, you can muddle through this. Otherwise, don't even try it. Gets the job done, but takes twice as long as paper forms. Balance sheet is worst part of whole experience - NEVER balances without tweaking, even though numbers match and balance from QuickBooks - an ongoing problems for 10 years now. NEVER presents all information needed to file - ALWAYS catches empty fields during the review process, and then finds more missing fields right before filing. I'm a software engineer, and I can say this is the worst UI I have ever seen in 30 years of programming.
What's great about it: Gets the job done
What's not so great: Clunky, slow, clueless

Bugs in program and online

1)No answer online to problem reported by at least 2 other people:
After submission, may need to send a printed form to IRS,
BUT when click continue, get ERROR:
TT Business : " Your forms cannot be printed. Error in converting your forms to pdf format."

2) TT says "notify me when the forms are available" -- BUT when click, get web page that says can't notify -- no forms specified. No way to specify on that web page.

Disappointed with filing process

For the Partnership NY State return: Turbo Tax allowed the filing, but won't allow the print or preview of the State as it says not all the forms are ready. How can they be filed then? Makes me wonder if they were filed and I couldn't even review the return before filing. I hope this doesn't cause major problems with New York State for me.
