Turbo screw

Paid for Turbotax. Then had to pay for the state filing. Then had to pay for e-filing. Talk about nickle-and-diming the customers! I don't remember reading any FINE PRINT to find out that turbo-screw will charge me for every little step.
What's great about it: I can do it myself
What's not so great: Paid for Turbotax. Then had to pay for the state filing. Then had to pay for e-filing.

2017 Tax review

The current flow of the questions are not the same as the past flow for filling out the return. IE in the past, personal info was first, then income listing then Taxes, deductions etc. It seemed that this year the income was inter-mingled with other things. Maybe it was just the phraseology was different. Maybe it's just old age creeping into my mind. LOL
What's great about it: Fairly easy to do
What's not so great: Arrangement/flow of questions are not conducive to easy understanding the flow.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

The app froze every 5 minutes or so this year. Never did that before. Seemed to be about the same time it auto saved the file. Very irritating.
State returns are far to expensive.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to use application
What's not so great: Health Ins items to complete are not clear

Two Discrepancies
on March 4, 2018

a) It did not offset my gambling winnings with my losses (which I entered and were equal). It showed Other income Gambling Winnings on line 21 of form 1040 instead of zero, which was then included in Total Income on line 22. b) It showed Standard Deduction of 15200 on line 40 of form 1040, but the sidebar says standard deduction for married filing jointly is 12700. Which is correct?

I have used Turbo tax for years but I seem to get less function and more hassle each year. I think this may be the year to switch.
What's great about it: Many I'm sure the cons knock them right out of my head
What's not so great: You ask for optional PII (Drivers License) and the it won't let you past that point, to file the return.
