Easy

I have used Turbo tax for years. I get it automatically each year. Saves all information for easy loading. Works great.
What's great about it: Automatic
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Something to be fixed in 2017 Basic download

After completing tax with refund due to payments exceeding what was due, error check required quarterly data in form 2210 AI. This should only be needed if payments were less than tax due for year. Community forum suggested that I could fix this by deleting form 2210 AI which I did. Suggest that Intuit fix this software error to provide expected quality.
What's great about it: Generally quality tool for tax prep
What's not so great: Error check required 2210 AI when not needed

2017 was a good year

the product is great. I use it, it is easy, and I don't worry about my taxes as a result of that usage.
What's great about it: Handeled all of my reasonably complex transactions in a way that leaves me comfortable that my return is accurate.
What's not so great: None

It can be clarified by being sepecific on the W-2 section. It should state that retirement income is usually reported on 1099R form and it will ask for it later. Other than that it was very straight forward.
What's great about it: it calculates for you and asks to review certain info
What's not so great: somewhat confusing on the W-2 section

Explain version differences

I tried to use several Turbotax versions before I found one that would import Quicken data. Chat tech assisted me in downloading the TurboTax for 2013 - which was no help at all! I bought a TurboTax disk after research on the web detailed which versions could and could not import Quicken data. TurboTax should make that clear to long time users (over 10 years).
What's great about it: Some versions import Quicken data
What's not so great: Only Some versions import Quicken data
