This makes gluten-free doughs and batters much more affordable and easy. I have made and used oat flour and rice flour for sweet and savory dishes. I can mill just what I need, but these keep well in the fridge too.
I love my Vitamix and use it almost daily. I purchased the dry grains container so I didn't have to hear my husband grind his coffee beans in his little grinder every morning. Now he can grind more at once and it only takes seconds!
As the title says, it’s very overpriced for what it is. It works okay, but I’m definitely not impressed. It has a tendency to create a vertical funnel of circulating material with a stagnant column of non-circulating outer material. This makes actually creating a homogeneous ground mix quite cumbersome, and renders the container no better than just “OK”.
I actually have a very nice grain mill. It does a fantastic job when I want to grind large batches of grain. I purchased this for those times that I just wanted to do a small batch. It's perfect for grains that I don't keep a lot of. It won't grind it to the consistency of my larger mill but it gets it pretty darn close... close enough that I am still rating this with five stars!

I bought the Dry Grains container to chop the left over almond pulp after making almond milk. I tried using the wet container but the results weren't a fine enough blend. The dry container is specifically designed to push the dry ingredients into the blade for a much finder chop. Works great!
