As a past owner of the v10 and v20

Yes, the battery is sealed, but you're getting such a beautifully updated phone. Much more refined package with the v30. It's strange to hold a phone with a bigger screen in a smaller body at first. I always wanted p-oled on the V series. It's amazing and I haven't had any banding issues with the screen. Always on display makes up for losing the second screen. The thing that always drove me crazy was the light bleed from the second screen at night with the v10 and 20. No more issues because of the p-oled. Happy it kept the headphone jack, even if it's on top, and the quad dac. If you have a V series, it's well worth upgrading and if you're thinking of trying something new, even better bet.

Best phone I have ever owned

This phone is the best phone I have ever owned, it fits perfect in my hand, the screen resolution is beautiful, and it’s durable, I have no protection on this phone, meaning I carry the phone around strait out of the box, I have dropped it twice, I had it in my breast pocket, bent over to pick something up and it fell out on to the floor, not even a scratch. The operating system is fast and responsive, you press an app and within a millisecond you are there. And the camera, don’t even get me started, especially the wide angle lens, it’s about time someone did this. I’m telling you, that you won’t go wrong if you choose this phone, it rocks.

Amazing audio, camera all bundled in solid design

The V30 has first class audio from an great DAC (digital audio converter), intuitive controls for manual still and video shots, a lovely screen, that has solid performance and battery.
LG provides a soundscape, through its headphone jack, second to none. It also provides stellar bluetooth audio through aptX HD (with the right headphones). No one denies their superior sound. Their camera are a more complicated package. There are few cameras that can take better shots, when care is taken and you're in manual mode. Automatic quick shots are not as strong - middle of the flagship pack. The front facing "selfie" camera, howevern is weaker; it's towards the bottom of the pack.
My screen looks great. Yes there is blue tint when viewed at an angle but I don't view it that way. Blacks are solid and colors pop. Some have complained about low-light uneven or grainy presentation. It doesn't seem to present itself to me, but I rarely go in a dark room and stare at a blank white screen scrutinizing for unevenness. The battery lasts me through fairly heavy use, with juice to spare. It's extending even further with wireless charging. (Just don't leave it on a charger all night).
I changed the launcher to Smart Launcher and put on a different icon them (smoke and glass). Looks great and works smoothly. .

Really good overall phone.

Does it check all the boxes? Nope. But then again, there isn't a phone out there that does. I really got use to the IR blaster on my v10 and Honor 8 but I guess it was considered a gimmick so it is gone. The screen resolution is incredible and yes the camera is amazing. The size and weight are acceptable and the phone is easy enough to use with one hand most of the time. The battery life is the best I have experienced to date. I will happily use this phone for the next 2 years and not feel outdated anytime soon.

The V30 is pretty sick
on October 10, 2017

I did all of my research on this phone and got it the day after it came out. Don't get me wrong, this phone is great.. Seriously. It's fast, responsive and pretty intuitive. But my biggest complaint comes from the camera. Maybe I have no idea how to use cine log video recording or maybe I just expected too much from auto point and shoot but I was not as impressed as I thought. Pictures look weird before you take them but then improve when you go back and look at them. Other than that this is great. I LOVE the screen, it's very bright with high color contrast. I will still give this 5 stars because its a great phone, I'm just ultra picky. I'll end up going with the pixel 2 xl with the stock android experience. Let me just emphasize. This. Phone. Is. Amazing. Quad dac is so sick, the design is great. Fingerprint and face recognition are 99% accurate. LG really hit it out of the park with this. Hopefully my quarrels can be fixed with software updates

Almost there

There is a specific set of users that will find this mobile phone to be the best out there. This phone will appeal to people that:
1. Want the best possible music playback from a phone without resorting to a connected DAC/Amp.
2. Want to add storage via MicroSD
3. Prefer a large screen.
4. Like a built-in wide-angle lens
Let's face facts. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has a better screen and the Pixel XL has better software and camera interface. As a mobile phone, the LG V30 is adequate. The antennas are no better nor worse than all of the other Android phones out there. There is nothing special about any other facets of this phone when compared to the top of the line phones from competitors. If you want any of the 4 mentioned features above, you want this phone.
