The last two items make the phone better than all but Samsung. The thing that one me over is that the phone is small for the screen size.

When I saw the the New LG V30 great camera and features I knew it perfect phone for me to change phones. But don't feel sorry for old lg it found new home with my mom learning smartphones.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to switch to Android from iOS and it was between the V30 and Note 8, both being the premier/flagship models for Android OS. I watched video reviews and saw how the V30's camera, audio jack, and size/shape were superior to the Note 8's features. Not to mention the price of the V30 being less than the Note 8 by a significant amount. I went with the V30.
As expected, the sound quality has been amazing. The camera shoots like a dslr. I really love the functionality of the phone in my hand due to it's optimal size and curves. The finger print and lock button is another plus due it's easy to reach location and the fact that it is not along the edge of the phone.
The downside of the phone is the POLED screen. There is very poor saturation at lower brightness settings. The display is a bit spotty, also, and it is especially noticeable with lighter toned backgrounds (ie whites). Also, when watching videos, there are saturation issues with darker tones and black colors. The screen issues have been the most difficult for me, as Samsung offers very good screens on Galaxy models.
Another downside I have noticed is the accumulation of dust in the edge seals on the front and back glass. I have utilized dust removers and I constantly blow towards the cracks upon taking my phone out of my dusty pockets (not my issue, most pockets do accumulate dust as is normal) often yet this only somewhat alleviates the issue. I do have the black V30, perhaps the silver one hides this issue better than the black one.
Lastly, considering this phone is priced very competetively with other flagships like the iPhone X and Note 8, I expected a competitively packaged phone. I wished my phone came with the B&O headphones, but unfortunately those who purchase the phone in the US do not get the headphones. The V30 logo would've been a nice touch on the back of the phone, but since I bought it from a certain carrier they advertise their company on the back of the phone instead.
Overall, I am pleased with this phone. Sometimes I think about what life would be like with a different flagship phone, other days I am happy with my purchase. Maybe LG will improve these issues and next year release an improved version that does not have the same isssues as the V30. I would buy that phone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought the new LG V30 2 days ago and I have to say it's everything I read about and expected. I am a Smartphone Photographer and Videographer and LG has nailed it with its new F1.6 glass lense, fixing the distortion of the wide angle lense (seen on the V20) and adding the cinema mode and d-log. The one gripe I have and it's a small one but on the previous V20 we were able to adjust sound direction while making a video. Which helped out alot while creating YouTube videos or when you just want to hear more of what's in front of the Camera and not behind. But other than that LG you have scored a 9/10 for me with this flagship phone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a Samsung user for years and note series phones. Had 3 note phones last 2 were note 5's. Nothing but problems. Decided to do some research. The LG V30 got my attention. Checked specs, reviews etc. I made my decision when I seen it, held it, checked it out. It's fast, smooth, display good. It can compete with the note 8 phone. One thing the note 8 can't do is compete in price, V30 almost 200.00 cheaper.
