Buy a fridge thermometer if you buy this model

We are on our 5th service call. The last technician who replaced the faulty thermostat indicated that there was 'nothing left to replace' however our fridge is not keeping a cool enough temperature & the freezer is far too cold. Learn from our mistake and be sure to purchase your own thermometer so that you don't get sick from spoiled food.

Doesn't work

Whirpool offered an incentive to us to replace a faulty refrigerator and we chose this model. We waited two months for delivery (A total of four months without a refridgerator), and the fridge has stopped working 4 months after we received it. This seems to be common with their side by sides, and particularly with this model. I wish we had been able to get a replacement that lasted longer than 4 months. We have contacted Whirlpool for service and are now waiting 2 weeks before a tech can even come take a look. We really just want a credit for the retail value so we can go purchase a working product, but they claim they can't offer anything until a tech comes out to diagnose the issue. DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL, AMANA, MAYTAG OR KITCHEN AID PRODUCT unless you enjoy living in stone age.

Daily frustration

I've had this fridge for over a year and it ruins my mood every time I open it. It just does not work for a family of four, despite so many attempts to reorganize the layout. I can never find anything in it, the shelves are too narrow and deep and things constantly fall behind the shelves and leak/ make a mess. The door bins are very flimsy and they have all broken, which made even more of a mess.
The freezer side.is equally ridiculous and inefficient.
The entire appliance just makes me sad and I can't wait to replace it, even if I need to renovate my entire kitchen.

Cheap exterior doors; not durable material

This was delivered to me on 5/29/18. It had a scratch through the plastic covering and when I removed the plastic I saw a permanent scratch on the door. I am sure we will accidentally scratch or ding this and it will look awful as time goes on. I can see every finger print on this from the past 24 hours and I don't want to be a slave to wiping this. I regret buying this on-line because the photos appear to show matte finish; however the doors are very shiny.

New Whirlpool Fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this and delivered 1 month ago. I just found out from my local power company that it is NOT energy efficient/ energy Star rated, and 2) the unit makes a lot of loud noise. My old 20 year fridge was much quiter/. Also looks like it is missing a cover here, see pic.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few weeks ago to replace an almost 30 yr old Whirlpool side by side refrigerator. It is pretty, sleek and quiet. I love how quiet it is when it runs.
It is taking me time to like the shelves and bulky side containers on the doors. The solid shelves don't go all the way back to the wall of the refrig so space is being wasted. I guess because the shelves are solid it is their way of air circulating. I have a tight space for my refrigerator so my door only opens straight out which does not leave me much room to get things off the shelf on the far right side due to the big containers for that are for the door shelves.

Old better than new!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 25 years old similar 33" side by side Whirlpool fridge broke down a month ago and was replaced by this one. On startup, the new one is brighter and quieter with same temperature achievement. However, the volume seems to be slightly less. The fridge shelves and drawers are slightly smaller than the old ones while the freezer width is also slightly narrower. The top hinges are not covered so that more dust can accumulate. The worst design is the front grille on the bottom which cannot be removed when the doors are closed. You need to keep both doors open in order to remove the bottom grille for vacuuming or cleaning the bottom of the fridge.
I would recommend this to a friend!
