Noise due to No Ice Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Basically, this a good refrigerator, but it did have one problem which I consider minor. I purchased it around June. Two weeks ago, it started making a very loud noise that persisted for over an hour. The next night the same. The repairman who came spotted what was wrong right off the bat. My fridge does not have an ice maker, although there is a small hole for an ice maker in the freezer. Because that hole was not plugged, ice was forming on top of the motor, causing the very loud noise. The repairman sealed the hole and I haven't had any problems since then. The manufacturer should have sealed that hole.

Inside fridge needs re-worked

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace my 1995 side-by-side. Inside fridge not as spacious...bottom shelf doesn't go all the way back due to the light fixture. Door bins too big so less shelf space. Prefer the older model slim door handles, new ones stick out more. If I need to take out vegie bin, I have to pull the fridge forward to an open doorway to swing the door open wider. Toe kick left side open space kinda ugly.
Wish I could have gotten my old one repaired...it was biscuit/almond colored and had better configuration inside the fridge and slimer door handles. Had to go with white. Doesn't match my other appliances. It is quite and I guess i'll get used to it.

Clean Looking Lines

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like most people who have a refrigerator stop working without notice I was under stress to select a side-by-side. Waiting for 6-7 days without food under refrigeration is a real problem! I needed a refrigerator no wider than 33". I am disappointed that this model doesn't allow enough height on the top shelf to allow a gallon of milk to be placed there rather than on the door. I don't like that much weight on the door. It would only have required a small additional amount of space to accommodate the heavy milk container. I am disappointed that packages of food (walnuts) have slid off the back of the glass shelves. I miss having a meat drawer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the side by side and that the door is smooth with no water maker. It actually has pretty good room, but it would be great if there was one more drawer. Need one for fruits, one for vegetables, and one for cheeses and cold cuts. Also, there is only one drawer you can adjust humidity. Only 2 drawers and only 1 has humidity control. Other than that it has a nice seal and fairly quiet.

Good, simple, fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This replaces a 25 year old Kenmore -- in those days, it would have been made by Whirlpool. We bought the new friidge because it fit into our existing space and was a side-by-side model so the doors do not extend very far.
So far, it exceeds expectations. It has more room than we expected and keeps a very consistent temperature.
We miss a separate meat drawer. There are two quite deep vegetable bins, which is nice, but not a relatively shallow meat drawer like we had before.
We are not expecting it to last as long as the Kenmore, of course.

Love this refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator. The first one was still working after 27 years, but we decided to get a new one and keep the old one in the basement for extra capacity. The new one has great lighting in both sides, and large see through plastic bins in the doors that make it easy to find items. The noise level is the same as our old refrigerator, and may not be as quiet as some people would like, but we are used to it. It rolls easily for positioning and cleaning behind, and the doors seal efficiently. We did not want any accessories like water or ice in the door, just a basic, dependable, long lasting refrigerator, which is what Whirlpool delivers.

The left door (freezer side) can accommodate a lot of food. Good space saver. The refrigerator has enough compartments. We are impressed with the temperature
And setting it on “Ideal” is perfect for your food.
It is cool enough to prolong shelf life much longer than usual. Over all, we are satisfied customers. Good brand and good choice!
