Surprises both good and bad

I ordered this less than 22 hours ago. JBL had it on my doorstep incredibly quickly. Packaging aside, there's nothing to suggest it's a refurb unit; performance and style are fantastic. Bonus points to JBL/Harman corporate -- the customer experience has been pretty rad so far.
Issue the first: YouTube audio cannot stream to this thing via Google cast. Issue the second: it doesn't come with a 3.5mm audio cord. Considering I bought it primarily as a laptop speaker for my office and secondarily to, well, stream YouTube audio, I was a bit dejected.
But the sound quality is exceptional, it plays really nicely with Spotify, the build is substantial and impressive, and Amazon will have a 3.5mm cable in my hands later today. It's going to get plenty of use when we entertain neighbors on the porch now that the weather is reliably warm. It looks great on my desk. And it's not JBL's fault that Google can't get its audio/video cast software nailed down the way I'd prefer.

BAD product

This product is designed to promote Online music stations like Spotify, Google music and almost compel subscription, if you wish to use it as a normal bluetooth speaker , there is a problem of sound picture synchronisation. Plus the constant blinking of the wifi sign is a great source of irritation.I would suggest this speaker only for those people with a functioning wifi internet connection and a premium members of Spotify and like stations. The short electric cable on this device is also quite annoying. But the worst experience so far since i have purchased this item, is the repeated abrupt shuting downs. The speaker keep switching off by itself. I am feeling quite helpless at the moment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Apple products won't connect to it via bluetooth

None of our Apple products reliably connect to it via Bluetooth. Android no issue, but we mostly have Apple products. It's a deal breaker.

Good sound!

The speaker has built-in power supply, just comes with a ac cord.. I mainly use it for Bluetooth, and it sounds very good, crisp highs, good bass and very clean at max volume! Haven't tried the app features or wifi yet, but overall very happy with this speaker!

Great sound, connectivity is not always 100%

I bought two for my husband because he wanted connected sound in our house. In other words, music playing from more than one speaker located in multiple places in our home. Set up was easy for one and less easy for the other. Once they were working, the sound is great! It's enough to fill our entire house, we may not need more than 2. The speaker that did not set up well continues to give me problems -losing connectivity frequently. I'm not sure if this is due to the speaker's location in the home relative to the other speaker and the wireless router, or it's the speaker itself. I love the sound, it's rich enough for my ears. When it works seamlessly (and sometimes it does! the inconsistency is what's frustrating) it's AWESOME and easy to use.

Great sound

I have two of the JBL Playlist speakers. I enjoy the sound and love the cast feature through Chromecast and Spotify. Both speakers in unison sound terrific. I replaced a reliable but aging (14) year old 5.1 desktop system. Great upgrade for my home.

Im so happy with the speaker, it has great sound and bass for my small living room. I can play all the music from my iPhone 11: Radio, Spotify, YouTube and more. I just love it: JBL, keep up that great work you are doing!!!

One feature away from greatness

I now own 7 of these spread around my house, I love the concept and the execution is really well done too. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the sound is very bass-heavy and there is no way at all to adjust the tone. Google home speakers have equalizer settings so we know it can be done.
