I've owned several electric knives and the main drawback of all of them has been the switch. Most of them have had switches that required you to push in one part and pull or press a second part in order to make the knife run. This makes for an awkward situation. If you don't get the two parts of the switch pushed and pulled at the same time, the knife wouldn't run. The Cuisinart has one part to the switch. It requires that you press one button. It is the smoothest running knife I've ever had. It costs more but is totally worth it.

This is one of the best electric knives I have purchased. My electric slicer needed replaced so instead of buying a new slicer I decided to give an electric knife a try. After purchasing several electric knives previously this product worked perfectly. No problem cutting with it.
