I thought it was just getting used to using it but my husband can hardly get it to work either. The Button has to pushed hard & In just right spot or it doesn’t work.

I purchased this knife and so after it became overheated and stopped working. Cusinart sent me a new one. Unfortunately the new one runs very hot and doesn’t always work when you push on the button. As soon as it doesn’t work anymore I will be purchasing a different brand of electric knife

I bought this to replace a 20 year old electric knife that still worked, but the knives seemed a bit dull. This isn't any better than my 20 year old knife as far as design. The blades are new and sharper, but that's it. It's hard to hold down the button to keep the knife on with my thumb. I usually cut four loaves of bread with my electric knife once a week. After just cutting one loaf with this knife, the handle was getting noticeably warm. By the time I finished the second loaf, my hand and thumb needed a break. I waited 15 minutes and finished the other two loaves. By the end, my wrist hurt and the handle was hot.
Really not impressed with this knife. Will be sending it back and will just buy a regular non-electric bread knife.

Returned knife, difficult to hold thumb trigger down. Knife kept stopping.

Very disappointed with this electric knife. The “On “button must be depressed so far below the surface of the knife before it engages that it is very uncomfortable and nearly impossible to hold with one hand while slicing.

Unfortunately this didn’t work for me. I am in my seventies and have rheumatoid arthritis and this handle just didn’t work for me. I couldn’t work the button or hold the handle properly but this is all probably due to my physical issues and not the knife itself.
