Wikkid worth it!

Several heat spells too many in New England invited me to get a window A/C. I decided on this one, based mostly on price and the amount of air it could cool. As I had to cool a few rooms and could only afford one unit, I didn't care much about getting bells and whistles. That said, the remote is nice...because when you turn the unit on to cool off a hot room (or 3 in this case), you'll need the remote to click up the temp because it gets COLD VERY fast! It's awesome! Many times now I start it up set to 68 degrees "to get it going", and have to turn it to 72 in no time at all because it's almost too cold. It has been cooling a pretty large area and so far I have no complaints. We've had this unit for approximately 3 months.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, cools down the room fast!
I would recommend this to a friend!

cools my rooms very fast. The only complaint is with the owners manual, not very clear on many points of operation, especially the timer use.
Pros: Performance, easy to use

The day after hurricane Isaac my neighbor asked me if I would hook up a generator & install a window A/C in his great room. His mom is in her mid 80's & sickly. We purchased 2 B&S generators & one LW1810HR a/c unit. The open area was about 450 sq.ft.(kitchen,dining room & great room) with vaulted celings. The next morning all of the windows on that side of his house were sweating ,he had lowered the temp.as low as it would go.We were both amazed that his lg would cool that well. He & his mom had to cover up with blankets. Wow that unit was working very well. I was so impressed I purchased a LW 1212Hr & put it in my kitchen window.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, a first class a/c unit !
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased two of these window units in April of 2012. I live in the heat and humidity of Florida, so they have gotten a good workout over the past two summers. I need to replace my central system, but because these work so well, I haven't been in any rush. My home is 1,388 SF and the two units cool it easily to 75 degrees. Once I turn them on in the spring, they are never turned off until fall arrives. They are running now at the end of the second summer. Not only do they do a great job, but my utility bill is about $50 less each month than it was with the central unit. The only negative I can think of is that some would consider them a little on the noisy side. I sleep with one right near my head. At first it bothered me, but soon became "white noise" and I don't even notice it anymore! I highly recommend!
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

The water does not drain from the housing properly
on July 4, 2014

While this air conditioner did cool the room well, that is lost in the fact that the water from running the air conditioner did NOT drain from the frame ('holder') that held the unit in the window. It WAS installed correctly, per the instructions that came with it. The unit leaked water all over the side of my house, because the fan blew the excess water that pooled in the center of the air conditioner out of the sides. The water would not drain, even though it was installed with a proper angle and into the carriage/housing that came with it. My husband tried to enlarge the TINY drain holes TWICE and the second time somehow the internal fan blade broke. It is only 2 months old (!!!) and it is no longer usable. The air conditioner will have to be replaced, unless I can find a repair person to fix the blades. I am very disappointed! What a waste of money!
Pros: water does not drain properly
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We love this a/c unit. Works great. Cools well. We leave it on energy saver most of the time. It has been 3 very hot months (a lot of 100 degree plus days) and our rooms have 9 foot ceilings. This unit cools them down quickly. Great price compared to other brands.

Easy to install, gnerally quiet operation. I've not had it long enough to see the effect on my electric bill. The only downside, is that on occassion (rarely) the front panel becomes loose and makes a racket. Easy to fix, but an annoying noise when it happens.
Pros: Performance
I would recommend this to a friend!
