Rattle Noise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This air conditioner cools well but the front filter cover rattles badly. It began as soon as I started using it. To fix this I wedged a piece of the spongy foam insulation between the filter and the cover, which quieted it down.
Pros: easy to use

A quiet, but efficient unit!

This air conditioner does a very good job of cooling a small NYC apartment—placed in a bedroom window, it still manages to keep the adjacent living room comfortable. It runs quietly and has a very flexible feature set.
Pros: Performance, Features/Settings

Bought this a/c, had it installed in window, tested it, and just waited for the first hot day. First hot day arrived, turned it on, and just made a clicking sound. Still under warranty so called LG. LG repairman came out and said that the motor was never screwed in to the chassis!
So, while I love the AC..it is quiet, cools great, and simple to use...I have a problem with LG's quality control. How could they let a product go out without screwing in the motor! So if you're lucky enough to get one with the motor screwed in correctly, you will really like the product!

Cools the room down fast... !

Use in living room; all I need is a fan to push cold air into the bedroom... now I don't need a second air conditioner in there. For a 12,000 BTU unit I couldn't have found a better product!

great excellent AC

I bought 3 of these this past week Wednesday for temporary usage till i am able to put up the new ductless AC in my house house and have to say these ac have me amazed they work great cool the room fast perfect ac for every room had a sharp portable ac that i bought to try them out and same amount of btu and have to say felt like throwing it out the window because took up so much space heavy 110lbs and worthless barely cooled so returned it and noticed these and i was never a fan of window ac because come the cold weather to take them down and put them away is a hassle but have to say took the chance in buying them and have to say very impressed recommend them to everyone who looking to buy specially for good price i have alot of lg products fridge and tv so recommend this brand dont hesitate to get if Lg in a year or two decide to make ductless ac then i will buy them for my house recommend this brand will not let you down

Major disappointment!

After being delivered a month after the promised delivery date, window unit was installed by my building superintendent & staff who have installed hundreds of similar units. The AC makes an extremely loud clunking noise (nothing to do with the grill on the front rattling). It died within several minutes the first time I turned it on; took a half dozen times to get it to run, and now makes a noise so loud I have to leave the room to carry on a conversation. It will most likely not last more than a day or two, but no repairman available for a week (and temps in the 90s here in NYC). Additionally, the tab to open and close the vent is missing.I will not buy another LG product. The second AC unit I purchased is still in the box and will be returned.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
