Purchased in 2018 and compressor died

This refrigerator was purchased in 2018 and the compressor died yesterday. I expect a longer life span than five years out of a fairly pricey refrigerator. Very disappointing. I will not purchase another one.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are two reason I am only giving this fridge 4 stars instead of 5, so those two bad things first: 1) The compressor has gone out after just four years - appliances aren’t made like they used to be, when they’d last for 15 years before a problem. 2) The water filter should be in a better location - it sits on the inside top where you have to empty the top shelf in order to access it.
However, the good things out-weigh the bad; we love the ice maker in the door, it frees up so much space; there’s lots of room at 27.7cuft; the finger print resistant black stainless exterior is fantastic; we will never buy another refrigerator that does not have the dorr within a door feature. That has absolutely been a game changer for us.

Love this new refrigerator. We actually bought it because it was shorter in depth but has a large capacity interior. Since I'm only 5'1" -- I can absolutely reach items that are in the back of the highest shelf (something I could not do with my former LG refrigerator). Truly happy we selected this model!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ice maker had to be replaced twice in less than 18 months. Freezer drawer wheels are broken off and it is difficult to maneuver. The refrigerator had problems since day 1 of bringing it home

Fridge & Freezer work great. However, after a year of use, the water and ice control on the outside of the door gets stuck on. This has now had to be fixed twice. It's malfunction with LG.

Thank you for that information! Because we've had issues being reported with the craft ice balls not ejecting properly LG has released a software update for those units with a craft icemaker. You can also try the following troubleshooting steps showcased in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFj0G2xTZL0 The main thing the software update does is it extends the heater time which now loosens the ice balls from the mold and allows them to drop. Once that happens your icemaker will begin back on its regular cycle of making ice. If these steps don't work, you can always reach back out to us for further assistance by calling 1-800-243-0000. ^Tanisha
Bought the unit 5 years and 2 months. The refrigerator broke and was out of warranty
