Freezer sucks

Pros outweigh the Cons

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this refrigerator on 2/27/24. I replaced my previous Kenmore refrigerator of 19 years. I absolutely loved my old refrigerator and would still have it if the control board had not failed. This refrigerator is very similar to my old one, which is why I purchased it. I give it a 4-star rating, because I am happy with it overall. My main reason for buying another Whirlpool refrigerator is the history of a quality product, especially the ice maker. Other models do not have a decent ice maker. However, while I like the quantity of ice made, I am not very pleased with the way the ice maker quickly ejects the ice, especially the crushed ice in the glass. Even after releasing the dispenser, ice continues come out. The same with the crushed ice, but some of it spills on the floor. I knew that ice getting on the floor was an issue, before purchasing the fridge. Most of the customer reviews mention it. I figure it is just a learning curve to get use to the new ice maker. The ice maker's shut off switch location is absolutely in the most inconvenient location. Your Kenmore refrigerators always had a shut off lever, that was easy to reach, when the ice maker needed to be shut off. The access was easy to use, when we would go on vacation. Now when we go on vacation, the ice bucket has to be removed before I can reach the lever, to shut off the unit. That is so inconvenient when the bucket is full of ice. That is my main issue with the refrigerator. Everything else is great. I love the storage. I really like the glass shelves in the freezer instead of the wire racks. There is plenty of space on the door. I really like the fact, that when either the refrigerator or freezer door is open, the compressor shuts off, saving on energy. It serves as a reminder, to not just stand there with the door open. I know of the comments of the louder noise of the compressor running. While I do notice it, it's not an important factor to me.

Glad to find a smaller one to fit our limited space, that has features we wanted - Ice maker/water dispenser & adjustable shelves for washing. Wish top shelf allowed for taller items without having to remove it & that crushed ice didn’t end up on the floor unless a wide mouth cup is used.

QUESTIONABLE QUALITY

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Two months from new it starts to drip water from the water dispenser, staining the front door of the refrigerator. The vegetable bin is not perfectly adjusted. It moves to the front and back. It is not what I expected.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the refrigerator but not crazy about the installation. There are no “legs” you can adjust to keep the unit stable. You must jam a pad or piece of cardboard underneath to keep the fridge from rolling every time you open it. Horrible design flaw

Bad taste in water and ice
