ice maker sucks

I remolded my kitchen and used all whirlpool appliances and one thing I noticed is the manual
that they come with tells all about the installation and not very or anything about usages or features.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] bought in protest - husband wanted side by side - not me!! BUT I have found it suits us! so happy I can see everything - it lights up!! I find it easier to keep food organized! LOVE IT

Messy ice dispenser

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In general, we are very happy with this refrigerator. We had a refrigerator with a drawer freezer, which we liked better than the side by side. It's harder to organize and find things in the side by side. But we like the ice and water dispenser feature, which won us over to this refrigerator. Our only issue is that the ice dispenser splatters ice everywhere, especially crushed ice, which we never use because of that. The regular ice also splatters, but not as much. It's messy, causing ice to be on the floor, and water dripping down the front. We've put a washcloth on the shelf of it to absorb the water, and use a refrigerator dish to collect the ice from the dispenser to prevent the constant mess. Because of this, we rate this product 3 stars. The other features of the refrigerator are just fine, especially the 3 food drawers.

Won't buy again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this refrigerator for about 3 weeks. It rarely ever shuts off, every 15 minutes or so it makes a clattering sound for 5-6 seconds. Guess I am going to have to call for service. Had the same frig here for 3weeks and it never made that sound and it also never shut off!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
