Complicated Vent Hood

We purchased this vent hood to go with our new home over ten years ago. The vent hood is loud and did not do a good job of venting out the odors. The worst thing about this vent hood is that we never could figure out how to close the vent from the outside. As a consequence, when it was windy outside we would get dust on our stove as well as cold air in our house during the winter. No one could ever figure out how to close the vent including the builder. I am glad that it is discontinued.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor quality and workmanship. The motor, switches and harness all shorted out and had to be replaced.
