Amazing portable air conditioner

I bought this to use in a hot bedroom I was painting in August. It kept me very cool as I worked. I am looking forward to using it next summer.
Pros: Performance, easy to use

It's OK

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought three years ago. It does an ok job of cooling down my average sized bedroom. At the beginning of the summer when I pulled it out to use on a hot day the hose was all cracked. Not impressed - the hose should last more than two summers considering the price of the unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this unit for a few years, we have always kept it clean! It has been my favorite a.c. unit that ive owned. We don't have a hvac unit & can't get one until next year, so this has saved us on extremely miserable days. Here lately it is leaking all over the floor. We do not use dry mode & dont understand why this is happening. I have cleaned out drain holes, drained & sometimes it happens instantly, even after draining all water out. It can go days without flooding our floor, but it has gotten very overwhelming. We put a puppy pad underneath it every day & it fills up almost instantly, the water just floods out. We can sit it outside with drains open for hours and water is coming out the whole time. I wish I could just toss it in the dump, but I'd rather clean up a mess than lay in my own sweat all day!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second LG AC machine. I love it because I can move it from room to room for use. My landlord installed vents in the walls so I can do so. It is very efficient so my electric bill is not so high.

Just what was needed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are very happy with our new LG portable air conditioner. Using it in the bedroom since purchase and it is keeping us cool on AZ desert hot nights since our HVAC died. It is wise to use the provided insulation strip between the window and provided panels with the hose to keep outside air outside. We did not and did not experience any adverse issues, but see where it would be necessary if we used the A/C daytime.

Supports small rooms well, not medium though.

I have had this unit in both an apartment and home and I have been overall satisfied when using in only a small bedroom, where it keeps the temperature reasonably low. If 90+ outside, the room is around 75 to 77, even when the settings are for 71 or 72. The complaint I have is the variable temperatures and I can only assume its radiant heat coming from the hose as it works to keep the room cool.
I have tried to use in a larger room, like 350 sqft, but as it shows in the specifications "about 300 square feet" is supported. Which means if set at 74 degrees and it's 90+ outside, the room reach about 80 on average.
Things to consider when choosing your next A/C unit. Mind you I am certain there are newer models now which are more efficient since I think mine is 8 years or so old, still running too, so that's good sign. Just use it in a small room and you'll enjoy it properly.
Important to note, as with all portable A/C units, the hose is really short and the kit does not support horizontally opening windows. i.e. windows that slide left or right, not up or down.
