Good product could become great w/some tweaking

I like this air conditioner. It cools my room wonderfully, but it does come with a few flaws. The 1st and most obvious flaw is the noise. It's really noisy. But I'd I can deal w/the noise as long as I am cool. Next - water is indeed this products worst enemy. It collects a lot of water. I drain it daily. I and am scared to leave it on without being home because I don't want to come back to a soaked floor. Also, when I try to move the a.c. water spills from the bottom as well. Next is the placement of the water drain. It's way too low to the ground, but I alleviated that problem (and the water spillage) by permanently putting it up high on something sturdy so I could easily drain it.

We returned our first unit. The fan would only blow on high, no low. The second unit works better but is still noisier than we would prefer. The low setting would be better if it were slower and noticeably quieter than the high. It does cool well and is easy to set up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was excited to find this portable AC at such a good price.
I love the features and the way this unit will cool a room in a short time
It is easy to use and maintain.
The quality is also a comfort so I can leave it on when I am not home with no worry.
I would recommend this product to my family and friends.
I am using it in my first owned home and with such a warm summer my pets and I are feeling really good and comfortable.

Excellent Alternative to Window mount AC units

This product is an excellent alternative where a traditional window mounted AC unit is not feasible/ possible. We have sliding casement style windows in our living room and this allowed us to cool the living room area. The unit produces a lot of cold air quickly and does not need to be drained as frequently as other units. It is also easy to set up and the built in side handles make it easy to move and carry. It was also an excellent value. I would certainly recommend this product and am very happy with its performance.

easy install great thermostat

We have a bonus room we have never used because it does not have air. Our 23 year old needed to move back home for a little while so to give her privacy we carpeted etc but it was still too hot. This has cooled it very well and with the thermostat it doesn't run more than it needs. Our power bill has increased but not as much as I expected

We bought this AC unit to help us beat the unusually hot summer we have been having here in the Puget Sound area. This product quickly cools our tiny apartment but needs to have the dehumidifier reservoir drained frequently. This might not be an issue in less humid areas, but it can get annoying here in Washington (and anywhere in the South). The unit was VERY easy to set up (I think it took me 15 minutes to unbox it and setup the window kit and hose). I like the remote control, though controlling the fan is not as straight forward as it should be. Selecting the "low" setting doesn't noticeably change the fan speed. Lastly, the unit is pretty loud. I know portable units tend to be noisier than window mounted units, but this bad boy puts out some serious noise. Don't put it near your bed if you can avoid it. Overall, this unit is a good product from LG. It's sleek, easy to set up, cools effectively, and has functioned flawlessly though a long, hot summer. If LG finds a way to make subsequent revisions quieter and the fan speed differences more appreciable, this can be a top-flight product in the future.

Cool but noisy

For the price it's fine and the cooling is very good but the fan settings between "High" & "Low" very noisy and didn't offer much speed/quite difference, you can hardly tell they are different settings.
I only wish the next larger model would have come in "White" the only reason I didn't get the larger unit was because of color. My wife insisted it be WHITE.
I also wish the store would have working models on the floor to test the sound out on.

Great product though a little loud

This works wonderfully even though it is a little loud. I have sliding windows(casement) so this fits great and I do not have to adapt the window like a regular window ac(casement ac's are too expensive).
