I purchased this portable AC after having my windows replaced by "Replacement by Anderson". My window AC could not be installed in the new windows without voiding the warranty. This unit works well, but is noiser, and takes up a lot of real-estate that a window unit does not.
Installation instructions suggest insulating the exhaust hose, but no suggestions on how to do this.

my over all thought is cool grest the only downside is you have to drain frequently on humid days . maybe some sort of spray mist system to rid the excess moisture would be good

I would recommend this for anyone who has a medium to small space to cool and can't put a unit in the window for whatever reason. It is not whisper quiet but I have grown used to it. The remote control is awesome. Having the timer to be able to set it for shut off when I want, is very convenient.

We have central A/C in our house but our porch which is fully insulated with thermo pane windows does not have A/C. We purchased this unit for the porch which is about 300 square feet and it does a great job at keeping the porch as cool as the house. We can now keep our slider door open from our living area to the porch on those nasty hot and humid days.

My central air was out for about a month and I purchased this to try and combat the heat, it worked perfectly and kept us from going crazy with the heat. The only draw back is that it is a little loud.

Fair to Poor design of drainage and louvers

Drain plug is to close to the ground to allow for easy drainage. The louvers only allow for up or down direction of air flow but no other louvers that allow for right or left change of air flow. The hose that connects the air conditioner unit to the window instllation kit is very rigid that it pops out of the end connecting pieces if you try to move the unit to change the air direction since it does not have louvers that enable the left or right direction change. Getting the hose ends back into the connecting pieces and having them stay connected was very dificult.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you are looking to cool an area...this product will do the job. I would recommend this product to anyone interested in a window a/c. It is very easy to set up and install...ease of set up and moving is a HUGE feature.
