draining is inept

This unit needs to be drained often which requires unplugging, unhooking the exhaust, and wheeling to the nearest bathroom. Once there you have to hoist on to the edge of the bathtub rim and open the drain plug and tip this heavy unit. By the way, this unit doesn't have a sealed internal water reservoir so it will spill a significant amount of water on your way to the bathroom. Other than this stupid engineering flaw it works.

easy to use & setup

It is easy to use & setup. I wish it has 2 exhaust hoses so the cooling coil air coming from outside (not inside the room). Also the fans has option to turn off fans when the air conditioner reach cooling set temperature. The exhaust hose getting warm. If it is insulated hose would better.
Pros: easy to use, Quality

Powerful Unit

This 10,000 BTU LG portable a/c really does the trick for our new office space. We live in Florida and the summer humidity is brutal. This unit not only cools the room (9x16) but it also dehumidifies the air.
I was able to set up the unit, venting it out the window with very little help. The unit holds 72 pints of water and I haven't needed to drain it yet.
The only issue my husband has is that it is noisy when it's running, but that is to be expected with any portable a/c unit. I don't mind the sound myself, so I think it is a personal preference. Also, I don't seem to be able to set the temperature; it just keeps running and when it's cool enough, we just turn it off till we need it again. Maybe I'm missing something, but other reviews do mention this issue.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

This works fantastic, is versatile and looks great

This machine has style. My living room is 26"x 20" WITH a vaulted ceiling. This little sleek-looking machine cooled this room so fast I couldn't believe it. Made summer comfortable. Did not have to empty out water much even when doing the dehumidifying. Great product. I have strange old windows and I was still able to make a secure fit because of the adaptable design. I have recommended it to everyone I know.

Taking it back
on July 19, 2013

I have 2 other LG air conditioners that work well. Got this one yesterday and have had to empy the water in it twice so far, even though it is self evaporative. The heat index is over 100 and I am not looking forward to putting it back in the truck and returning it. A major disappointment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coming up on three years. Ran it during the summer. I was able to clear the first E1 stoppage. The second one seems to be stuck. It's best to do the hard reset before the 720 hour mark. Otherwise, you might find yourself in my situation. The compressor is good but some stupid sensor has blown.

Easy to use

Bought and was able to use as soon as I got it home! Instructions for vent set up were easy to follow and I can move it to the room that needs it most. Since I rent it goes wherever I go and doesn't need an HVAC guy to use. Now my most favorite appliance in the house!
Pros: easy to use
