Decent job of cooling and de-humidifying
on November 16, 2014

Bought this unit to cool / dehumidify a room (a bit larger than recommended but...). Unit did a decent job of keeping the temperature tolerable and removing a lot of moisture out of the air. Used a hose and bucket, but wish I had a way to run a hose outside. Unit is a bit noisy, but I would expect anything with a compressor and motor to be so.
Pros: easy to use, Features/Settings
I would recommend this to a friend!

Decent Air Conditioner but HORRIBLE exhaust design

We purchased this product to cool the large family room in the addition of our recently purchased home, as the central HVAC doesn't quite cool the addition adequately.
It is rather loud when the compressor kicks on, but overall, cools the large room extremely well.
The exhaust design is HORRIBLE! There are four tiny tabs on the exhaust flange that is SUPPOSED to hold it in the window and there is NO WAY these four small tabs that are designed to be inserted, then slide over to lock, will EVER hold. When you insert the tabs, it literally slides less than a half inch to supposedly 'lock' it into place, and I have walked into the room and found the exhaust, laying on the floor blowing hot air into the room, after it dislodged and fell out of the window more times than I can count.
I would have returned it, but I too threw away the box way too soon ... I'll stick with a window unit in the future ... and it WON'T be an LG product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This A/C unit is quiet, easy to set up, and invaluable on hot days. The oscillating vent moves up and down and left and right! The controls are easy to understand and use. Very sophisticated looks and style.

Works great. As long as the family room with all the windows stays cool the rest of the house is cool. No need for expensive central air for our home with this unit. Only improvement recommended is side oscillation.

Easy to install, works great right out of box...

This is an incredibly engineered, energy-efficient, high-quality product. We needed to replace an aging window-mounted a/c in a 15x12 foot corner bedroom with two windows, and decided to give a try to this portable unit. After one hot summer season my wife and are glad we did. We chose for the installation the window where the unit would fit best, given the usual traffic pattern in the bedroom. The installation was very easy, instructions were clearly written in good english, and all necessary parts for the installation were included in the package. I was glad to notice that the provided installation materials and parts not only perfectly fit our window type and dimensions but that many different window types and dimensions could also be accommodated. You just use those parts that fit your window, and save the others. My leisurely installation, including reading the manual and installation directions, took less than half an hour. After that, we turned the unit on and were surprised how powerful it was, compared to the window-mounted unit we had before. We took full advantage of the various settings available in order to adjust the temperature and flow of cool air to comfortable levels. After almost 6 months of owning the unit, we are extremely satisfied with its a/c performance and energy efficiency. We would buy it again and can recommend it for situations where a/c portability is desirable and the room size is within the LG-recommended 20x20 foot or less.

This A/C unit is Fairly quiet and cools quickly

This product from LG was great right out of the box. It cools quickly and is fairly quiet. I have also gotten the chance to use the dry feature this also works well. I am using this unit to cool an office in a shop environment. I am constantly on the phone and in and out of the office and the unit manages to keep it cool with out running constantly. I like the power saver function as well. The remote control is easy to use and read. The only down side is the fan was making an odd sound the first few days but I think it just needed a little break-in.
Pros: Performance, easy to use
