Failed after 16 months; second LG AC to fail

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace the 2013 model which failed after less than a year. This worked fine last summer and was working great this summer until it started to retain and then leak water. The Water Full indicator never flashed and the unit was happy to flood my apartment more than once. LG support was really good and, despite being out of warranty, gave me a reference number to replace the unit. Third time had better be the charm, because 2 defective LG AC's in two years is a bit much.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings, easy to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using this device to dehumidify and cool my home for a few months. Product works well. It's not too loud. I wish it had a built in water bucket, though.

product exhaust hose and attactments poor design

model 1213 had a nice small diameter exhaust hose easy to move around. had to return, loud noise in compresser. returned with a model lg1214gxr, exhaust hose is bigger in diameter and poorly designed, hard to line up for a casement window. needs a better design, plus comes off the diffuser. had to use duct tape to keep hose in diffuser.
Pros: on sale
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's just ok

The product was purchased to keep upstairs room cool. It will cool the room, but the compressor is loud and comes on every 5 minutes. It's annoying to the people in the room as well as downstairs. It was chosen to keep from having to remove the storm window from the upstairs window. Everyone has suggested that I buy a window unit instead.

Made it thru Texas 100 degree summer

My Central A/C went out in June which in Texas June and July are our most hot summer months and to top it off on the day in June it was the first 100 degree that lasted more then 2 months - fixing the central proved to be outside my budget - I set it up plugged the unit in and wow!!! cool air - within minutes my room was cool down to a nice 74 degree love it and used it thru my summer!! highly recommend the unit well worth the $ and no issues at all.
